What's new

Really??

He is not talking abou twho is a better player. He is saying who will impact their team better. I think Marvin has a shot at this. The Jazz are desperate for what Marvin brings. 3 pt shooting and perimeter D. The Jazzs desperate need of his skills amplifys his impact on the team.

I know. So is it fair to say that he is wrong if Wolves win more games % wise then last year with adition of Roy and AK then Jazz with M.Williams? I mean how you measure impact of those players? In wins? in defensive or offensive efficiency? playoff standings? Come on, lets make some objective number/criteria which we can rely upon to see who is right here.

Well what specific areas did the AK and Roy pick ups address? Just depth of is there more? Marvin specificlly addressed 3 point shooting, perimiter D, need for a starting caliber SF...

Look to see how the Jazz improve in defensive stats, shooting pecentage, 3 poitn shooting...

You also need to look at wins but the players effect is even more limited there.

The only thing the T-Wolves addressed by picking up Roy and Kirilenko would be the fact that Kevin Love isn't going to stay there if they don't start competing.

The difference between a Utah and a Minnesota basketball franchise is that Utah no longer bows down to all-stars that threaten to leave.

I don't think wins is the best criteria. It's going to be harder for the Jazz to dramatically improve from their percentage of .545 (which equates to 45-37) than it is for Minneapolis to improve from .394 (equal to 32-50 for 82 games). What's the best Jazz can hope for...55 wins if everything goes right? Minneapolis could get in the 45 win range just be having Rubio come back healthy. They were a .500 team before he got hurt.

What I based my statement on was looking at the likely minutes, who the player replaced and what the team was lacking. Roy takes over for Martell Webster. Upgrade IF Roy stays healthy. Last time we saw Brandon, he was about 50% of his former all-star self. AK is replacing Michael Beasley. Yes, definite upgrade. And AK's role could become huge if he becomes more involved with Love out. But I still maintain Marvin replacing the minutes given to Josh Howard/Roger Braille is a bigger improvement. Think of it as kind of a "Wins Above Replacement."

are you truly suprised? This is utah!!!

We are vastly under rated and estimated every single year. And yet every single year the jazz are right there.

The jazz had one of the very best front courts in the league. They were elite as a 4 man unit. Now you add 3 top 40 3 point shooters from last year and watch out budy. Add to that that those same guys increase our perimeter d.

Hayward looks much more settled, kanter is exploding and burks is out for blood. The jazz will once again stun the nba world and it will then be written off as "it's the jazz. They always over perform.."

as i said in a previous thread. See you in june bitches.

this is sparta ! ! !
