The Jazz are going to be solid this year. They will really be pretty solid. They are better than the T-wolves, even with a healthy kevin love Also, They may end up being just as good as the nuggets. I hate how everyone is writing the jazz off as a struggling team.

At the 2:40 second mark of this (^) ESPN Video, Jalen Rose says "The Jazz are going to struggle. In the parlance of Steven A Smith (he said this directing it to Skip Bayless), I just want to publically say to Mr. Rose "You don't know basketball Jalen! you don't know basketball."

That being said, all the analysts have the T-wolves as being better than the Jazz this year. Their all idiots... lol :). I love how the only mention of the Jazz in this north west division preview was in reference to how they are "going to stuggle" Why in the heck is everyone so high on denver?? i don't get it... I get the love for OKC, but i don't get the instant love for Denver and the T-wolves. I get the love for Kevin love, but not the T-wolves. I'm not sold on Roy being Healthy, and we all know AK will likely give them only like 40 to 50 games this year. also, it takes like a year to really get back after recovering from an ACL tear. Rubio won't be back fully till like Nov of 2013. all in all, If I was in a room with a bunch of the ESPN analysts, I would point and say, just like Will Smith in Hancock, "You, you, you, and you, you're all idiots" ha. just wanted to get that off my chest.
 
Are you truly suprised? This is Utah!!!

We are vastly under rated and estimated every single year. And yet every single year the Jazz are right there.

The Jazz had one of the very best front courts in the league. They were elite as a 4 man unit. Now you add 3 top 40 3 point shooters from last year and watch out budy. Add to that that those same guys increase our perimeter D.

Hayward looks much more settled, Kanter is exploding and Burks is out for blood. The Jazz will once again stun the NBA world and it will then be written off as "It's the Jazz. They always over perform.."

As I said in a previous thread. See you in June bitches.
 
Most of these basketball analysts just call it in when it comes to a lot of teams. They'll know the big market teams, but they don't care about the small markets, and neither do the networks. Every once in a while you'll see one of these guys that knows what they are taking about, but 90% of the time you have has been players that are morons...
 
I was gonna say it'll be nice when the season starts and we can start proving people wrong, but it's gonna be tough for those first 11 games or so. My prediction is we handle those well though and go like 6-5 with of course no one talking about it (despite it's ridiculous difficulty) then we go on a tear.
 
I do see Denver as being better than the Jazz for a couple of reasons. First, they are stronger at the PG position. Second, they performed well in the playoffs in pushing the Lakers to 7 games while the Jazz got swept. Third, their key players have played more time together dating back to the Carmelo trade in February 2011, with the exception of McGee.

I don't see the T-Wolves as being better than the Jazz, but here's why I think the analysts might. More and more the NBA is becoming a league where you need a superstar. The Wolves have one in Love while the Jazz don't. Also the Jazz don't have the sexy name recognition of Ricky Rubio. Plus everyone's so used to seeing the Wolves do badly that once they are on the upswing people are quick to jump on the bandwagon.
 
Denver should be better than the Jazz. They're a similar team (a team whose biggest problem might be their depth and lack of a marquee player) but with better talent and more experienced coach. But we'll see.

Minnesota should be fun but struggle to win against good teams as their two best players can't play a lick of defense, their best defender will be lucky to play 60 games and hasn't been engaged in half of the games he HAS played in the NBA for 5+ years, and their coach doesn't help their defense either. Besides that, they have some weird logjam issues. They'll score 110 a night but playoff teams will score 120.
 
This is honestly why i like being a jazz fan... we always over exceed expectations.. it helps this way that we are never disaponted in what our team accomplishes. except for the last year that we had dwill. we were suppose to over exceed that year and we were just a major bust..

I honestly think the Jazz will prove to be on the same level as denver. Denver likely would have been swept by the spurs too and maybe would have pushed S.A. to 5 games. The lakers were not a legit contender last year; their margin of victory throughout the season was quite small. Factor in the fact that though denver got better defensivley, they got worse offensively; Who is going to close out games for Denver? Say what ever you want to say about Big Al, but his value is that you can give him the ball in the post in the final 8 seconds of the shot clock and he'll score near 50 percent of the time- Big Al is in the top 5 in highest FG percentage in the final 5 minutes of a game over the last two years. Additionally, The Jazz will be a much deeper team, a better 3 ball team, and all their young guys will be better!!

That being said, Denver and Utah will be same tier. You watch.

Im picking Jazz 4th in the west behind OKC, Lakers, and Spurs. Thats it though.

Jazz are better than Denver and definitely better than the Wolves. Im seriously, the Wolves? The timberwolves are perennial suck jobs every year.

The addition of Marvin Williams and subtraction of J.Howard and Bell, alone, is enough for 8 extra wins easily.


Just get used to it folks. The Jazz could win the championship and the next year people would be saying they arent going to make the playoffs. It is, what it is

First bold does not hold true for me. Newer coach and muchimproved talent will mean they are much improved. I can even see them taking 8th. However Utah is better in my opinion.

The second bolded, that is some damn truth.

Sorry boys, but you need to take an honest look at this team. A bunch of decent but humdrum vets. No superstar, one one-time all-star (backup), a totally unproven coach. Got some nice youngs but they too are unproven and apparently not likely to get big minutes. I see them fighting for an 8 see again myself. Does that mean struggling? Maybe not, but hardly a contender.

Nice line. I'll try to rep you when I can.

Jazz rarely make the "sexy" additions and that's why they always fly under the radar. Marvin Williams on the Jazz will have a much bigger impact than Roy or AK on the TWolves. I do get the love for the Nuggets, though. They added Iggy by giving up Afflalo and change. And Chandler is back for the entire season.

Utah has the advantage over many teams in terms of depth. Outside of PG, the Jazz essentially have two teams of "starters." Let's hope the Jazz play up-tempo all the time and force the oppostition to play with either tired starters or second-rate subs. I see many games being decided by the Jazz' bench. Starters just need to play to a draw when they're in the game.

Can you really argue the Jazz cannot be a top 5 team in the west? I agree that the Spurs, Thunder, and lakers are likely going to be better overall, but depth wins in the regualr season and the Lakers don't have depth. The Jazz will be right their with the Clips, Nuggets, and Grizz. They were already with those teams last year (keep in mind they did this having guys like Raja Bell, who is clearly finished, Josh Howard, Look as his FG% last year, and C.J. Miles, he shot like 25% from the 3, logging in a tons of minutes.) and they have only improved. Our 3 point percentage will be much better this year and all of our young guys will be better. If you can't see the logic then wow. The clips may have actually gone down in their bench's productivity. Their 3 point shooting will be worse this year, which will hurt griffin's game a little bit. Denver is not that much better than the Jazz. if you really think so, please see post 11 and explain to me why so that i can understand... ha :)

Yes, Marvin is going to have a huge impact this year. Our offense is going to be great with him in there.
 
T Wolves have Rubio and Kirilenko and Roy, three players who will all suffer devastating season-ending injuries before the season is out. Kevin Love and Pekovic and tough Mo Fro's, but even that toughness will not overcome AK's porcelain bones.

I look forward with great glee to when all these same pundits say, "WOW nobody, I mean nobody saw the Jazz locking up home court in the playoffs."

National Basketball analysts know about as much about the Utah Jazz as Jazz fans know about other NBA teams.
