It looks like the ref with the best angle to see the push might have not been able to see it because he ws behind Hayward.

I've reffed some high school before and this is a call that sometimes you have to trust your instincts. Particularly if a guy has position and suddenly is out of the play you have to blow the whistle. The problem is that the malfactor here is a star and the memo from the league always said bail out the stars. See the MJ shove on BRuss about 20 years ago.

You would be surprised how far you can move someone from behind with a little shove in the hip or butt area. The only way to avert that is for Rudy to put his butt in RW's stomach as the same time the shove is coming.
