Millsap is leagues ahead of every guy on that list offensively besides Lee. You are clearly undervaluing Millsap.

Agree to disagree. Look at the list of players i have there. Do any of those guys have plays set up for them? Or do they have to create there own offense? They all have to create there own shots. They don't have set plays for the PF to score like the Jazz do almost every time down the court. Those guys have to get garbage points or hope the wing players pass to them on a pick and roll. The Jazz are very strict about looking for the PF rolling to the hoop. no other team does that. The Jazz also set screens for the PF to get open CONSISTENTLY. No other team does that.
We are overvaluing Millsap big time. He is a great role player but nothing more.

I am not comparing contracts. David Lee is overrated. But his stats would make a significant boost on the Jazz.

Millsap might be better than all of those guys. But it is not by a big margin. Very small. People just see stats and go "we can't trade someone who provides those stats for someone else". My point is Millsap is very easy to replace. any of those guys listed about can get similar stats on the Jazz. Millsap would be a 13 or 14 and 8 rebound a game player on any other team in the league. That is not hard to do. Its hard to protect the paint on defense. Its rare to find someone who can do that. And Biyombo provides that already. And has Amazing potential to be one of the best in the league at it.
Scoring PF's who are average rebounders are very common. Scoring PF's and so called franchise PG's are very easy to find. Look at every team in the league. just about every team has both of those. Not ever team has Defenders down low who protect the basket. The ones who do are the elite teams. Its that simple.

I think you're just looking at Millsap's stats instead of his intangibles when you want to replace him. Millsap is the perfect 6th man for a frontcourt player. And you comparing Millsap to Hansbrough is just absolutely hilarious. Clearly you haven't seen either of them play very much. Same with Maxiell, Ed Davis (who was a high pick btw and has only been in the league for a year.....).

Lets also not forget that Knight played in the SEC, arguably the best conference from top to bottom and Jackson played in the ACC, which outside of UNC, Duke and maybe Maryland was absolutely terrible. And Knight is no more of a ball hog than Jackson is, in fact, I would say Jackson is more of a ball hog. Point guards never average very many assists in Cal's offense, that's just how it usually goes.

It's less of an argument for Jackson than it is an argument against Knight @ pick 3.

I watched Knight play in the tourney and THAT'S what has me freaked out about picking him at 3. I didn't see Jackson play but his similar numbers at a lower pick are a better gamble. Yes, Knight hit some clutch shots but otherwise there's A LOT to be desired. Go ahead and draft Knight at 12. "but he won't be there." Ok, then don't draft him - draft someone else.

I have seen all of them play. Millsap is better than most of those guys. No question but not by much. Millsap will be a decent 6th man. But if we keep Millsap Corbin will play him over 30 minutes a night and end up playing Favors 20-25. Favors needs playing time. He won't develop in practice. And that will happen if we keep Millsap.

Ed Davis was the 13th pick in the draft. I am suggesting trading Millsap for the 5th or 6th pick in the draft so we can get Biyombo. And people complain about that?

I would rather have Biyombo providing rebounding and REAL defense off the bench than have Millsap provide scoring and average rebounding. Something Jefferson and Favors can provide. Favors and Jefferson can easily provide enough of the scoring load and rebound way better.

And what are these intangibles that everyone keeps talking about that millsap provides? I think everyone throws that word around too much without ever giving a specific reasons. What intangibles?

Reggie Jackson won't do jack in the playoffs. He's Mr. October, remember? In April he'll be playing like it's spring training instead of gearing up for the playoffs.

It is top heavy but the differences aren't significant. Jackson had a terrible supporting cast so I consider his assists pretty decent. Of course the age difference favors Knight but its not clear cut to me Knight will be a better pro.

Dude I am not saying one is better than the other. I am only stating that Knight is WAY OVERRATED. And Jackson is a way better value in the teens of this draft than drafting Knight at 3. The difference between Knight and the PG's after the lottery is not much.
I watched Knight a lot actually and I don't like him. I don't like his ball handling, shot selection, passing, high turnover rate, lack of athleticism etc.
I didn't see that much of Jackson but everything I have studied on him sounds awesome for middle to late first round.

If we were arguing which play is better for a certain pick than I would understand what your saying. But I am just making a point that Knight is overrated for the 3rd pick.

He gets better every year. Great, great work ethic.
He plays as hard or harder than anybody on the court every night.
He has shown clutch ability.
Showed a willingness to learn a new position.
Toughness/ Durability.
