What's new

REMINDER: CJ Miles is only 7 months older than Jeremy Evans.

If he got held back 7 years he'd still be in high school. What kind of expectations would you have for a high school senior on this team?

This is cute but it's apples to oranges. It's all relative and Miles has had seven years to get acclimated to the NBA environment and the rigors that come with it. If he's proven anything, it's that he either isn't that good, is mentally fragile, wildly inconsistent, or all of the above. Either way, I don't care because none of that is doing this franchise any good. I hope the door hits him on the way out all the way back to Skyline High School where years from now, he'll give speeches about what could have been.

How much of mental toughness and consistency is connected to brain maturity (which also peaks typcially at about 25)? Not that I'm saying he will improve much in either, but how do you know it is a feature of experience instead of overall maturity?

Kind of a weird way of admitting your mental maturity has declined for teh last 33 years don't you think?

Age is an indicator, but not as great an indicator as level of experience. CJ has a ****-load, and he's been getting worse for 3+ seasons and is on course to somehow outdo himself again.

Fixed that.

I hope the building collapses at his 8 year reunion.

I do think it's a maturity thing. I also think he's a bit too casual a personality to become really great in this league. The really great players aren't always liked because they're the ones that usually have a hard time relaxing. They're usually really hard on themselves and usually get quite upset with teammates when they're stinking it up.

Say what you will about Deron but teams need guys like that or coaches like that to push them to greatness. It's really rare to succeed without one or the other.
