@TheMontyShow: #NBA Source told me the #Jazz are close on a deal with the Cavs for Favors, #5 & #23 ...also talk to Bucks who seem to be firm at #2

Some others from the same guy:

I am also told the #Jazz seem to be hesitant to deal next years picks, they feel Favors #5 & #23 is more than enough to make a deal

Working to confirm rumors on a trade for the #Jazz but clear the league is surprised the club is so aggressive in pursuit of a trade

#NBA Types also telling me the #Cavs are not wavering much ...the price is high because they don't think Bucks will move. #Jazz

Clearly the league didn't hear of the meeting between Thomas S. and Dennis Lindsey last week, followed by a prayer service on Sunday with the entire Quorum of the Twelve. Jabari had previously spoke with Deiter Uchtdorff and told him he was going to do his part in putting on 15 pounds to make himself appear unfit. Dieter gave him some tried and true german recipes. Can't drink beer, so his diet has been heavy on bratwurst and strudels. It was then revealed to Dennis in the prayer meeting that Jabari should tank his workout with the Cavs.

My sources are now telling me ALL food deliveries to the LDS Church and Jazz offices have been cancelled and vending machines were locked as of this morning. It's a period of fasting and prayer from now until the draft.

Who is Monty? Reliable? I do this deal... If they are waffling throw in the GSW pick.

Best part is we keep Burks. I could give two ****s about 23rd pick. But a perimeter rotation of Burke, Burks, Hayward, and Wiggins could be nasty.

Unfamiliar with who that is. Also don't know if someone already posted this. Twitter says it's 38mins old

Consensus around the internet [from non-Jazz fans] is that Derrick would easily be a 4-6 pick in this year's draft, so this is akin the Jazz offering 4, 5, and 23 for #1.

With Embiid out the picture, this is a top 3 draft so Orlando's 4 no longer trumps Jazz 5, and Favors + 23 is worth more than Afflalo and #12.

College Derrick would be but four year, limited offense, passive Derrick, knowing what we know now, would probably go around 7-8 imo. With these rookies, there is a lot of hope that they really develop. Derrick's development, at this point, seems much more limited.

To me, and not that it's hugely different, it's more like offering 5 + 8 + 23 for 1 which is too much imo.

I stand by letting the Cavs take their guy and hoping Embiid falls to 5 where we snag him and try to get the wheels turning on the 3 team trade with the Kings that I fleshed out yesterday.

I can see Favors in the 3-4 range of this draft for sure. I wouldn't take Exum or Embiid for him.

3+5+23+(next year's 1st?) sounds like a lot for #1, but the value of a #1 pick varies so much from draft. Last year it would have been laughable. This year I would pull the trigger.

But if CLE likes Favors, I think Favors+5+23 should get it done. Kid's still 22, man. He's a damn nice big man.

When did the Jazz move up to get #4?
