Next years team will be a bottom 5 imo. Total disappointment for me. We took Jabari/Wiggins and lost almost all of our potential. What if we let Hayward walk then?
Worst team in Western Conference.

That's the plan. We need to hit the jackpot in the draft at least twice to compete.

Our Potential was a 7th seed, at best.

Yes it is a lot to give up but it is nearly impossible to be a contender in the next years wit this roster + Vonleh/Smart/Gordon/Randle...EVERYONE of our talents have to reach their max-potential so it could maybe happen.

So if you have the chance to grab a young much more talented player, you do it and build around him. Otherwise you haven`t got any chance to land a top-5 player anyway.

We have to suck in the next years, that`s sure but if you have superstar-potential player it is much more excited to do.

Remember OKC also sucked after Durant (and got Westbrook and Harden) and after that they were/are legit contenders.

Too much. If Wiggins were Lebron, or had that upside, sure. I think he'll be good, but not Lebron good. He's not a sure fire superstar.

If we offer all that I hope we take Jabari. I'd be happy with Wiggins if it was just Favors but if we throw in Burks I'd rather we took the somewhat safer pick. Parker's floor is higher. If Wiggins doesn't hit his potential we would become the Bobcats. We need a #1 offensive option.

Neither guy is a sure thing. IT would put the Jazz in the lottery for the next 5 years if the Jazz give up all three assets to get one player and that one player doesn't live up to his potential. There is no way that Parker or Wiggins is worth Favors, Burks and #5 unless they become Lebron or MJ type players which isn't going to happen.

OKC didn't trade away their existing talent. They just sucked and got lucky in the draft.

I don't think DL is happy with KOC's team. I can see him being ok with being high lotto for the next 2-3 years. 4 years from now Haywards "potential" will have worn off and we can probably resign him for something more reasonable. We still have 3 more GSW picks. We will have even more money if this goes through. It's not the end it's a beginning.

You are right but is there any other possibility to land a (possible) top 5 player? Trading for Wiggins means starting from bottom again but you have to do it. This core is not enough to get a ring.

Agreed 200 percent.

That's what I'm trying to say. The Jazz seem blinded with Jabari affair.
This looks like a ridiculous, "Nba 2k" type trade to me. With a possible failure in Jabari's production Jazz will ruin all the efforts of post Deron era.

How many W's did that get us? Sometimes it's best to move on.

i voted no but i'm kinda torn on this.

burks & favors and the pick swap just seems like waay too much unless we get back something better than jack. (do not want waiters, although he is beastly. thompson maybe.)

but it's also true that you win the trade anytime you can get a bona-fide star without having to give one up. and after all the build-up of the past couple of years both wiggins and parker seem to have pretty reasonable chances of becoming outright stars in this league.

i'd be disappointed if someone else moves to claim the #1 but... i suppose we can only leave it in the hands of DL.

You're right but no need to give Burks... Favors plus #5 was reasonable. We don't have to offer that much. It's not even a high risk high reward situation. Huge risk maybe high reward.
