The other consideration is Favors is a tweener, He even likes to call himself a PF, yet he doesn't have the shooting ability to play outside. Vonleh does.
That would be an interesting scenario if you could draft Vonleh and get Embiid in a trade for Favors. Huge risk, but a potential HUGE upgrade at two positions...IF Embiid recovers. Get it wrong, and it's a potential career-killing move for Lindsey.

I don't see the career killing risk at all. You're creating a chance to take a franchise cornerstone, while not inhibiting your ability to draft your "raw potential guy", and also saving the Millers $10,000,000 (next season alone), which comes with a several year option to replace that #5 pick by taking on expirings or facilitating trades, or hitting free agency, and somewhat accelerating the development of Gobert, Favors, and whatever big is drafted with this new pick.

I'm a Favors fan but if I'm Greggy Boy I take that deal in a heartbeat and tell Lindsay to try to talk Melo into going to Sactown and facilitating in exchange for this year's #7.

@chadfordinsider

Sources: Cavs were calling around offering teams Orlando's picks at 4 & 12 for players last night. Interesting

Obvi doesn't specify his source. Were the Cavs just test-running those picks, or do you think they have a spoken agreement with ORL? Or is it all just a smokescreen to get us to up the anty, because they covet and need Favors, but think we can sweeten the pot? Or is it just a lie?

I wish it was tonight already.

Saw this earlier. I don't see us moving up. Crazy how undervalued Favors is. I say keep the team intact, draft smart and make our move for a proven all star before the trade deadline and any of our assets start losing value.

Undervalued? I do not see it that way at all. He is very valuable. Good player and a defensive anchor. Problem is that he, and no one else on the team, will be that franchise player. Jazz and Cavs see value in him as he is the rumored cornerstone of this trade. To me that indicates he has the most worth.

Yeah, Favors is valued. I just think Cavs are nuts. They NEED rim protection, and here they are considering taking on picks 4 and 12 in a 2-3 person top tier draft, and a late blooming wing who put up #'s on a bad team and has likely peaked. I see ORL and Philly as a smokescreen, and us as the real target. They just want us to throw in a future first, or they're keeping their pick. Afflalo and Young got nothing on Favors.

Yeah. If the Cavs think that Orlando's proposal is better, I believe they are extremely undervaluing Favors. No other way to explain it.

It was always gonna be this way fellas.. cavs will toy with everyone until the last possible second.. they have to.. they need to exhaust all their options until they are forced to take the best available... they were never gonna trade before draft day if at all...

but on a side note....damn themontyshow (whoever he is) for that one tweet saying we are close to a deal. He got us all revved up. what does this do to his credibility?
