"We've got some healthy competition in the Democratic Party, but I've lost count on how many Republicans are running for this job," the US leader said in a speech to students in the Midwestern state of Wisconsin.

"They will have enough for an actual Hunger Games," he joked, referring to the best-selling young adult novels, later transformed into successful blockbusters, about a bloody reality TV contest among children and teens in a dystopian future.

So does that make Obama President Snow? Interesting comparison if so.

Personally I would like to see far more competition in these things than less. It just means there are more opportunities for people with different ways of seeing things rather than the vetted and dyed in the blue (or red) cookie-cutter Dems and Repubs running. I would like to see a third viable party even more, but imo more competition here is a good thing.

A bit soon for the thread but I'm 'vanilla'd' for the upcoming primaries. I love the free entertainment our modern joker candidates bring.

I have a lot of republican friends that are becoming disillusioned by the party. I think they are about to lose a lot of the libertarian vote.

I'll have to watch some Youtube videos of interviews with this guy to see for sure, but he's got entertainment potential based his sweet name and on this:

https://2016.republican-candidates.org/Bickelmeyer/

Bickelmeyer is something of a dreamer, and has formulated some creative inventions that are interesting, to say the least. He is particularly proud of three such ideas, which he advocates as important Federal Projects, and for which he is in the process of securing patents. The first is a square shaped airport with steam-heated runways and an industrial facility at the center. The industrial structure would be used for recycling, die casting, and manufacturing. His second proposal is an independent industrial recycling plant utilizing five high-volume furnaces, which would be used for the recycling of a variety of materials including glass, plastic, and steel. Crucially to Bickelmeyer's platform, both of these facilities would be powered strictly via clean energy generation, producing no carbon emissions and thus no contribution to global warming.

The third of Bickelmeyer's concepts is arguably the most noteworthy. In what he calls “a gift for children”, Bickelmeyer proposes an orbital weapons platform that would function by the collection of solar radiation, which would then be magnified and directed to the surface as a lethal beam. He claims that this weapon could potentially be as precise as to eliminate a single personal target, or as broad as to effect entire countries. Bickelmeyer advocates the use of this platform against terrorism and in pursuit of the war on drugs. He stresses that, because this is not a nuclear weapon, there is no danger of radioactive fallout.

Libertarians have a lot more in common with Democrats, imho, anyway. Well, at least the ones who's libertarianism goes beyond not wanting to pay any taxes.

If a libertarian is for liberty then there's no way they could consider themselves conservative Republicans. That was always an odd marriage in my opinion.

I'd love to see Trump dump a truck load of his own money on his campaign. Unfortunately I think it will be too obvious to him that it's a lost cause before he gets to the serious spending.

This thread will trend the typical reek.

(because politicians suck and Americans are stupid)

Here's the list:

We need Christie and Trump to hang in as long as possible for pure TV debate entertainment. Some other guys like Santorum are entertaining because they are tool bags, but their entertainment value only carries for about one debate.....then they are just super annoying.

Christie is such a vile human being that I would actively campaign against him and proudly even support someone like, ugh, Hillary Clinton against him. Hell, the three guys you mentioned are candidates where I'd lose respect for anyone who were supporters of them, but Christie in particular. When it comes to Carson/Bush/Walker/Jindal/Huckabee (well maybe him too)/and the rest of the Republican clown car, I can at least get the support even if I don't agree with it.

Thankfully he's such a dumbass as a political candidate that he's a no hoper in terms of getting elected. Plus he's an unpopular Governor in a state that the country hates the most.
