This is true, and I don’t know if he has. He probably does owe Donovan a personal apology, but judging by what Tony’s saying the Jazz are trying to mend it and have been in contact with Donovan about. I’m sure they’re trying to get Donovan and he to talk but it sounds like Donovan doesn’t want to right now. Listen. Donovan says he loves it here and loves playing for the Jazz Tony says he is sincere on that part. It’s a crappy moment. We’re living in a wild world right now. I just hope at some point we can all look back at all this and laugh about how crazy things got all around. This is just something to talk about and keep our minds off the real issues being faced. I don’t know that Donovan’s fake, but he does have some growing up to do. So does Rudy. So I do agree this is a two way thing right now. I think Rudy would talk to Donovan by the sounds of it. I’m not sure Donovan is willing to talk to Rudy. I see Joe Ingles, Jordan Clarkson,Mudiay, and Niang interacting with and joking around with both of them on social media. Royce is obviously on Donovan’s side but he’s still willing to like Rudy’s posts and stuff. The main rift is between those two and they’re both to blame here for sure not just one. I think most of us actually just think quite highly of Donovan so this is weird.

I simply can't believe you people are being like this to Donovan. He had been in Salt Lake for 5 minutes and he was already doing more in the community than almost everybody on the team. They named a bridge after him because he's fake? Because he didn't kiss Rudy's *** after Rudy acted like an idiot?

Guys like you are why this fan base is considered so ignorant. Donovan is genuine and charismatic. If anything, Donovan showing emotion over this whole Rudy Covid thing shows MORE transparency and authenticity than just sweeping it under the rug and being cool with it.

Honestly, what does he have to gain in the lockerroom, the community, in his wallet by being upset at Rudy? You guys are so stupid. You don't deserve Donovan.

The thing that bothers me about this thread is all the speculation. We don't even know exactly what happened. But Rudy did apologize so you know and he admits that he f'd up, and Donovan is not the only one who is / was pissed at him. Did Rudy and Donovan talk? No one seems to know. I'm not taking either side until I learn more.

I doubt we’ll ever know the full details so we’re left to speculate. Don is over it and didn’t have any symptoms throughout it. Many other players in the league had it. At this point other teammates aren’t holding the grudge so why is he? If he did something so horrible why would other teammates be cool interacting with Rudy now? Rudy at first felt bad for whatever he did and was apologetic and was even liking Dons posts and stuff. He’s stopped doing that now and neither act as though the other exists while both are interacting on social media with other teammates. We’ll see. But looking at what we can speculate on it seems like DM has not acted great through this. Like I said on the previous page.

I get the whole 23 year old thing, but don't be promoting something that you are not. You are defined by how you respond to conflict and adversity. It's easy to be a big person when all is well. Gobert should be our future if we have to pick one of the 2. Hate me for saying it but I think this whole Utah loyalty thing from Mitchell is just an act. He will bolt at his first opportunity to play in the big lights with bigger name players. Gobert is extremely loyal and will stay in Utah until we trade him. Mitchell is so shallow and his character has no depth. I just don't buy it. I like him as a player though, he shies away when he is off and disappears Gobert always has an impact on the game.

I agree as a leader and face of the franchise you still can’t act like this during a tough moment. He did just donate lunches to an entire school district in Utah for several weeks so I wouldn’t say his commitment is completely fake but I don’t know that it’s completely genuine either. Obviously that test Utah video is about as little effort as you can put into something but he has went live with Boler a few days ago for fans. He did do a podcast with Niang. Idk, I agree I’m pretty skeptical of him especially now but I’ll give him a chance moving forward to be better as well.

I’ll say this. I’ve seen several people on twitter who knew him in high school, went to school with him and played against him. All of them have positive things to say about him. All of them that I’ve seen say he’s a genuinely great person. I do as well at times but I haven’t seen anyone really say he’s anything but genuine. We all have bad moments and considering he’s 23 an NBA star with a brand, and we all get to sit here and judge how he reacts to something in his personal life publicly. He’s earned and deserves us to be understanding of him too.

I'm a very positive person and I do not like unnecessary negativity. I really disliked the constant hate for guys like Exum, CJ Miles, and others through the years. For somebody to pile on Mitchell for having human feelings through an unprecedented pandemic really rubs me wrong.
