Good find. I knew it was on here somewhere but it has also changed a few times so did not want to look it up.
Too me that is still too much weight on Days and Posts. Keep in mind I've been here from the beginning and the time factor helps my rep power. As for # of posts. It still seems to high. I'd prefer a system that has very little gained by post count maybe 1 rep point every 10,000 post or none at all. And I fail to see how time on the board should effect your power at all.
Just by the need to earn rep points time is already factored in. So giving extra points for that seems like it is double figured to me.
I am not complaining. I like the rep system and think it is a fun add to the board. I would change it but it's good how it is.
I would eliminate negative reps. Make everybody on the board have 1 rep power all of the time and have it keep track of how many rep points each poster has earned. Thereby showing who the most popular posters are, and or the posters who make the most popular posts while eliminating the negative reps that are used for attacking others.
It depends on what the objectives of having a Rep Power are. I suspect one of the main objectives of having a Rep Power is to encourage a vibrant and live discussion community. And therefore the more times a poster logs in here and post something the more vibrant this community becomes. You have to give him/her that incentive to regularly visit this site.
I know that neg repping can be used to attack others (I've been on the wrong side of that too many times myself). It does though sometime pull you back in line and makes you think twice about 'trollin' or making stupid un-called-for comments.
Having said that - if someone goes out of his/her way to neg-rep someone for no good reason - I think there should be a way for reporting that behaviour for Mods to look into (similar to the way you can report a post). I won't name names, but there are pretty negative personalities out there - some of them I'm happy to say have been banned since anyway.
