What's new

Rittenhouse

My username is not two words, nor is there a random capitalization in the middle of it.

Well, she calls herself a Democratic Socialist, which is indeed leftist. As applied in some countries it has worked just fine for them and to the general satisfaction of the population. In the U.S. it's a bad word and we're stuck with things like the worst health care system in the modern world. Cool.

Socialism without significant capitalistic motivation is doomed to failure. I think she may take her socialistic notions too far and they could very well be damaging. But she knows what she's saying and she knows what she's advocating for and she knows very very well what she's advocating against and why. Again, I'm not willing to just throw her the reigns and so "do what you want, let's see what happens." But I've found her perspective to be interesting and well informed.
I don’t care if you sound smart telling me about bad and unpopular ideas. I care about not losing most districts in America because you mainstream your bad ideas and rhetoric as part of the Democratic Party. I care about things like the infrastructure bill getting through congress, not leftists like AOC holding it up because it doesn’t have every want and wish she wants. The squad would rather have nothing passed before the Virginia Governors race and lose, than get something done for people and help them…..and you know maybe win elections to continue progress.

Well I'm not a Democrat. The one thing I've said is that I will not vote for a Republican candidate (again) until they completely reject Trump and Trumpism. I've posted my Presidential voting history on jazzfanz.com many times but here it is again:

Clinton vs Dole -- Dole
Bush vs Gore -- Third Party
Bush vs Kerry -- Kerry
Obama vs McCain -- McCain
Obama vs Romney -- Third Party
Trump vs Hillary -- Hillary, not a hard decision but not a happy one. Had it been Hillary vs Cruz or Jeb Bush I probably would have voted 3rd party again, but with Trump I have no option but to vote for the best viable alternative.
Trump vs Biden -- Biden, not too hard a choice. I figured Biden would be mostly harmless.

I should add that I always vote against Utah Republicans for in-state elections. They are a full-on good 'ol boys club and there is no accountability. No quality control and no representation of nearly half the population.

Depending I might vote for Cox next time as I've been pleasantly surprised, but then he ****ed it up by signing the gerrymandered congressional district map.

I haven’t voted for a Utah Republican since Huntsman, until last year when I registered to vote in the primary to vote for Huntsman again. Cox has been fine, he’s better than most, as far as redistricting I think his hands were pretty much tied. This is another place where leftists aren’t good for Democrats. If you want the gerrymandering to change you can’t be so unpopular around all the districts except Salt Lake County in the state. The Democratic Party is losing the battle on things like that. You have to get the supermajority legislature down to at least a normal majority before a veto would make any difference on anything. I’ll do all I can to try and see McMullin or Edwards beat Mike Lee. If Romney runs again, I could probably vote for him in the primary because he will probably face an uphill battle within his own party at this point. The Democrats in the race against Lee should just drop out and endorse McMullin. I’m about winning, and leftists kill that ability especially locally.

I'm just going to say Ben McAdams and leave it at that.

It doesn't matter. They'll vote in a ****ing clown vs the most moderate damn near a Republican Democrat there is in the USA. Not just a moderate, but a pro. The guy was good at being a congress person. He was thoughtful and intelligent and had Utah's interests at heart. He's served Utah for many years and then went to Congress and did a fantastic job for our state. So the reward, we vote in a non-Utahn clown. An incompetent idiot.

If Utah can't support Ben McAdams then they don't deserve nice things.

Nah dude. It's the leftists fault for running super leftists for congress like Ben McAdams.

If only AOC had voted for the infrastructure bill, that was going to pass with or without her vote anyway, then the democrats would win more elections.

Blocked him?
Yes. It was pretty obvious that he was merely trolling. I have no problem discussing things with people who have different political views. But there’s got to be some civility and some attempt to listen. After his 6th straight post of, “leftists leftists leftists **** you leftists leftists leftists **** you” it became obvious that he was yet another trashy account from one of our trashy trolls. Dutch could definitely be a possibility. Do we know if jazzy was a Dutch alt? I remember that one guy that posted a lot of crap the Babylonian Bee. Do you? What was his name? Political fan or something?

Could be right, but at the end of the day, he broke no laws, was attacked and defended himself. Regardless of what was in his heart or mind, he broke no laws. I’m fine with the verdict
The frightening thing is the tacit approval of all of the circumstances that lead to him being there with a gun in the first place. That is a scary precedent to set. It basically says we are fine with people proclaiming themselves vigilantes and meting out justice as they see fit. But if others feel threatened by it then they are in the wrong and deserve to be killed for it. Despite the letter of the law this is just wrong on so many levels.

Absolutely not. Absolutely not.

Again, doesn't mean I always agree with her but she always impresses me with what she has to say.
You must be thinking of some deepfake you found on PH. AOC is a moron. She has a degree in economics and doesn't understand basic concepts like how the unemployment rate is calculated. She didn't know it was illegal to cross the US border outside of a border crossing. She took a victory lap at keeping Amazon from revitalizing a warehouse district in NY for their new HQ2 that would have added a boatload of $100k+ jobs because she didn't understand the difference between a corporate headquarters and a distribution warehouse. AOC never goes anywhere that she isn't adored because she doesn't have the mental horsepower to keep from being exposed as an idiot by even neutral parties.

If you are impressed at her ability to prep for delivering soundbites then your bar for who impresses you is set really low.

So if AOC wasn't so AOC then the democrats would win more elections. I actually agree with that statement as does James Carville. The democrats are set to get waxed in this next election because they have stopped being pragmatic and are too AOC now.

I disagree with you and James Carville. The Democrats likely getting waxed is a function of centrist bi-partisan hacks like Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema openly blocking and neutering legislation for corporate overlords at the expense of their constituents. Any delay of the infrastructure bills is on their hands. What AOC advocates for is extremely popular among leftists, Democrats, and even Republican voters on occasion.

The Democrats pay lip service to AOC and her agenda only because they know that's what the citizens of this country desire. The power she wields derives from her popularity. When it's time to take action she and her agenda are frequently marginalized. You see the democrat party propping her up. I see her and people like her (Bernie) being pushed out of the real discussions.

You disagree with her agenda so find ways to call her an idiot. This is easy to do as she says a lot of things and the media loves nitpicking the stupid **** she says. However, the things you've pointed out have little to do with how right she is on the plight of the working class in this country.

Anyways, back to Rittenhouse?

I am not too far off that although I had a few more third party votes.
