He signed to play basketball with College of Southern Idaho. CSI has Olden Polynice's and John (Hotplate) Williams son on their roster. "
Robert Whaley, a 6-5 forward from Bountiful High School in Utah will join the College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball program next fall.
Whaley, who graduates in May, averaged 20.4 points, 10 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.7 blocks per game as a junior at BHS. He earned Utah 5A first team honors and was third in 5A MVP voting.
"Rob is one of the most unique players I've ever recruited. His blend of size, athleticism and footwork make him an incredibly versatile player. He will cause mismatch problems for our opponents because of his ability to play in the paint and on the perimeter," said CSI Head Coach Jeff Reinert. "As good of a player as Rob is, he is an even better person. When Rob walks into a room, he lights it up with his charisma and enthusiasm. He will be an ambassador on the CSI campus, both on the court and in the classroom. Rob comes from a strong bloodline, with his father who played in the NBA, and we are confident that Rob is only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. Twin Falls is going to love Rob Whaley in the black and gold!"
