JGolds... you are threatening to become the next LoGrad. If you keep this up then you might be forever linked to that gross KFC Gold colonel! You put up a poll and virtually everyone disagrees with you. 23% of the board sees some similarities, but the other 74% totally disagrees with you. Leaving you as the only one who voted in the top category. The stats you have put up are not compelling and were refuted by stats that you ignored. Hood's play has already been significantly better than CJ. No one in the league would trade Hood for CJ on matching contracts.

Let this post rot or enjoy being the pub'lic shaming:

Lols..... Not one person has given stats of any value.... And everyone knows a Poll carry's very little statistic weight...Its all about opinions and feelings. I value all of your opinions and feelings and i would hope that could be reciprocated.

All this Thread/poll accomplished was illuminate the delusion that is ever so present in any given fan base. I appreciate all comments and feelings.. As that was all that has been provided.

***BTW you are one of my favorite posters, I want you to know that. Whenever you grace a thread with your presence there is instant gratification/validation that the thread is worthy***

How sweet of you! Now let's let this thread die for a year. Feel free to revisit this in a year.

I stand by what I've always said about Hood:

He is a nice player. A solid starter. An amazing bench player. The Jazz should hold onto him. The Jazz probably will hold onto him, because he won't ever be too expensive, which is nice. I hope he is in Utah for a really, really long time. Hayward, Gobert and one more with a support group of Hood, Burks, Lyles is a really, really, really good team.

That's a fair criticism, Eenie Meenie. I may have used the world "elite" loosely. Thank you. And I agree with you that "Burks is probably the only player on the Jazz with elite athleticism". What I originally said about Hayward was:

I used to think that Hood was better equipped than Hayward to make the jump from role player to go-to guy, because Hood seems to have a better shooting touch. But Hayward clearly worked so hard on his game and his body during the offseason that he was able to make that jump (although his athleticism is somewhat lacking still).

My point was that since Hayward was not all that naturally athletic even though he worked really hard on his body there still somethink lacking in that regard. To be a go-to guy in the NBA you usually have to really quick and explosive — unless you have a really special skill-set, of course. Some guys took my statement as an unfair criticism of their beloved player, but I was actually praising him for his work-ethic, while trying to remain fair and objective.

I think most of us still remember last season's game against the Celtics in Boston. With 30 seconds remaining, the 6'8 "Captain America" Hayward tried to post-up the 6'3 Avery Bradley, who easily blocked the shot. You can see it here: https://youtu.be/TEqbc6qYb7g?t=256

How is Burks an elite athlete then? Hayward has surpassed Burks as an athlete these days as far as I'm concerned. Unless you only judge athleticism by first-step quickness and by hangtime. He has more endurance and durability, better balance, better lateral quickness, not to mention a HUGE gap in strength.

Does Burks even have a good first step? Hard to tell when he is always doing a hezzy.

If you combine CJ and Burks, it wont make a half Hood.
Get over yourself, Hood has heart. He will get only better next year, he just needs health and consistency. No serious flaws in his game like Cj or Burks or Burke or Kanter or whoever...

Don't know what everyone else sees, but I've never been too big on Hood.

I don't hate him, but I just don't see what some people do. I see him as a 2nd tier bench player. That doesn't mean 3rd string, but it means he's an average bench player. If he was actually consistent on his 3s I'd consider him a damn good 6th man. But he's not. He never has been.

I think it`s extremely unrealistic to assume that there won`t be atleast one team offering Hood something close to the max after next season. In this day and age, no semi-decent player signs cheap contracts, and especially not a player that for some reason seems to be universally loved around the league.
