Rondo to Knicks possible?

Why does Shump keep showing up in rumors with Farieds and Rondos and whatnot? He's solid, but he already plays 30 min/game so it doesn't seem like he has a ton of unknown upside or anything.

I think the Knicks are trying to sell him off as this elite, "3andD" type prospect that makes a solid 4th-5th starter on a contender.

Personally, I have oft-heard that his play is overrated on account of playing in the Eastern conference (and in MSG, at that)-- but he was probably one of the few somewhat-bright spots of their post-season run. Still, his FG% is something that alarming

Burke + Burks + GSW for Rondo.

Honestly, I can't think of the Knicks making a better offer than this-- or most other teams in the league for that matter. I suppose Burke would love to be on the same team as Sully as well.

This is my answer if I'm measuring talent. But part of my thinks there's no way in hell Rondo wants to play here, so why give up these kinds of assets?

Apparently PKM texted him a while ago about potentially playing for Utah (I know, not exactly proof per-se), and Rondo said something along the lines of "he doesn't care, as long as his teammates worked hard" IIRC. And to me, that doesn't seem far-fetched given Rondo's persona. I think he just wants a team where the players work hard, hold themselves accountable, buy into a team-concept and don't pursue individual success.

Consequently, I don't see him as that bad of a fit with the Utah Jazz. In fact, I'd love to have him on this team. Man, he'd be a game-changer.......imagine missing him for most of this season, getting Parker via the draft and then rolling out:

Rondo
Hayward
Parker
Favors
Kanter

*creams pants*

Yeah, that team contends with the right bench squad.

We'd probably need to be 8 deep-- backup PG, good 3andD player, and a great third big. Backup PG (or ball handler) would definitely be a position of need-- Rush could be the 3andD guy, and Gobert could be the good third big (still ways away).

Very excited for this team moving forward, though.

To add to what Dala said..

Rondo said he doesn't care where he plays as long as it's a team that is serious about winning.. both players and FO.

We do that trade but does Boston? We know that GSW is doing well and that pick won't be in the lottery. Boston would want our pick and I wouldn't give up that.

^Neither would I.. but I think Burke, Burks, and GSW at least warrants discussion on their end.

Oh for sure. Burke was the unanimous best player in college last season-- Burks is a player I'm sure Stevens could get production out of, and you're stilling getting a first-rounder out of an injury-prone team. I highly doubt the Celtics will get a much better offer.
