Its probably nice for Royce to get the extension now rather than have it in the back of his mind for the rest of the season.

Super fair... lots of dumb *** teams with cap space... could have ended up costing us more... we can now focus on other things when FA opens... can also make it declining to help future cap budgets.
 
Fantastic. $9 million a year is a good contract for him, and he has improved his game every year so far.

Can we extend Clarkson or Mudiay now if we wanted? I’m not necessarily advocating for it, just wondering if it’s a possibility.
 
Nice. This is a very fair deal for both sides. I was getting worried we were going to end up having to give him around $12-14 million a year. $9 million a year seems about perfect for what Royce provides. Now I really hope we can find a way to keep Clarkson .
