It drove me nuts last year how Rudy would give his all on the PnR, but would never get the ball. He'd post up and nobody even cared to look. These are things Rubio excells at.

Key thing is that he also knows where to find our shooters in the spots they are best at. If Hayward comes back we won't see him sit back and play hesitant because we have a guy who can get him involved and facilitate. Same for Hood, Favors, and his good friend Ingles.

If Hayward leaves, at least we have the pg position on lock and don't have to worry about overpaying Hill.

Really good point with Gobert. This could really help him take the next step as an offensive player.
 
OK< I'm done moaning about this one. I apologize for being so pessimistic. I hope I got it out of my system and I'm ready to support our new player. I did it with Lyles, I'm gonna do it with Ricky too.

For what it's worth Ricky is a tremendous passer and defender. Hill actually had kind of a down year defensively last year, so Ricky will probably be an obvious upgrade there. The thing that's coming to my mind from the get go is - we need to change our offensive system. I can't see how it will work with Rubio. We will be once again a point guard dominated team. I don't know what it mean. Hopefully Quin has some idea about how to restructure the offense. Those handoffs and UCLA cuts are probably over... or at least a bit limited. This is another thing I'm worried about - Quin and DL will have to sell Hayward on a completely different system they haven't even tried implementing yet.

We might also be wise to speed up the offense and take advantage of early transition opportunities. It would be such a waste if we cannot utilize Ricky's vision and passing in transition.

BTW for the Milos fans - Ricky can be almost as fun as Milos with his creativity.

Honestly, do you really think DL is going to risk losing Hayward, just to save the difference between Hill and Rubio?

That's expected from Cy, but not you. This is an insurance policy because they are worried about not being able to re-sign Hill.

Not some cheap *** decision to save money and risk losing Gordon.
 
The longer term view is this gives us bird rights on Rubio in 2 years. Pretty important given the fact we will likely still be low on cap space, and who really knows if Exum will ever be ready.

Will do... I'm also supposed to get back with you when we pay a bunch of luxury tax... Maybe you just get back with me instead...

I would bet large sums of money that George Hill ain't walking through that door. Whether we "try" or not.

jazz would have two of the best passers for less than what Hill was demanding if Teo gets the MLE. Still hopeful rednecks "big move" is yet to come. But he also said the Jazz would just make a small move with their 2016 cap space.

I want Hayward to stay. But Utah simply can't afford to pay Hill $100m or whatever he's asking. Hill had his chance to sign for 4/$80. It will be interesting to see if he can get that somewhere.
