What's new

Rudy Gobert is leading the league in both both defending the PnR and scoring in the PnR(as roller)

But he got them back by agreeing to draft Burke, Exum and Lyles in the lottery. Imagine how good the Jazz would be if just one of those players were even a serviceable backup.
You don't consider Lyles a serviceable backup? Your expectations are unrealistic.

It's well known that Rudy Gobert is the prime rim protector in the league, but people miss on just how dominant he is in other aspects of defense and in the PnR offensively:

Rudy Gobert no. 1 defending the PnR
Rudy Gobert no. 1 scoring in the PnR as roller
Rudy Gobert is no. 3 defending the rim - might be easily argued he's the best at it since he challenges more shots than anybody else by quite some margin
Rudy Gobert is top 5 defending the post

It would be shame if he didn't get the all-star nod. Aren't we all sick of no D and no competitiveness in the all-star game? Rudy plays defense even during all-star break:

Just cited this in a debate with some dude and he apprised me that sports VU data doesn't account for all outcomes. Per synergy Gobert is 43rd percentile in PnR defense. The link by the OP indicates 1.4 possessions but per synergy he faces 10.3 per game.

Nah mate. Gobert has been *** in pnr defense an teams are exploiting it. It was the reason the Suns lead most game. Rudy still took over doe.

Gobert might be quite nimble for a guy his size he still is a massive 7+ footer : you don't leave him out to dry in the open planes beyond the free throw line. He will get exposed if this happens. PnR defense is team work.
