Rumor: DMo to sign with Jazz if Favors misses extended time

They matched it and he refused to show up for the physical.

Then they reworked it and he got a physical.

Then something happened and they agreed to make him a UFA. He cant go to Brooklyn.

I dunno, to me a 'match' means going through with the contract, him playing in HOU, HOU paying him, etc. If they didn't do all that then he should be allowed to go to BKN.

Okay he passed, but there are obviously still concerns... either way his agent way overplayed his hand and should have just accepted the Houston deal. Minny has space and so do we... He really might end up here if we can't get Hill to extend.

The Favors extension makes more sense next year with the new CBA. Would you rather play Withey or D-Mo?

There is probably more to the story than either of us know.

Except that his agent stopped the full match because there were BKN specific incentives in there that he would not get (or something like that). It was a creative contract. I believe his side then said lets reconfigure it and they resolved the issues then hit more snags... His agent blew this one.

A match happened, he just didnt show up for his physical. If a match never happened, he would be in Brooklyn right now playing.

I agree the agent stuff played a factor too... I think the back stuff limited who would pursue him during the regular FA period. I don't think he wanted to go back either. The fallout will be interesting. I may start by firing my agent if I was him.

Right... that was how they voided it... it's all coming back.

If they didnt have this rule in place, it would be 100% impossible to ever get a RFA. Every team would just match knowing they could just trade him to the team that wanted to sign him.

It's like I agree to buy your truck verbally and you accepted, but then later we mutually walked away from the deal.

Did the 'sale' happen?
