RUMOR: Joe Ingles to be offered 4 years at $60M by Orlando

Yes I can. There were very reputable journalist who reported that Orlando was ready to offer Ingles 60/4. Its not like it was a blog rumor.

I said it in my very original statement. I literally said exactly what happened. I said he would get 15 million a year if he talked to other teams but he might take a slight discount to stay in Utah.
Nah, you said he would get offered "X" amount and he never got offered that amount.
You are insufferable.

Reported that Orlando was ready to offer does not = offered.

So weird that betting has to be explained to you of all people.

The only way you win the bet is if it can be proven that a team actually offered the amount you said they would. Being ready to offer it doesn't count. Close, but no cigar.

"I think people are sleeping on someone offering Ingles 15 million a year. He might take a discount to stay on Utah, but not that much."

Exactly what happened besides him not talking directly to teams. Magic rumored were prepared to discuss 60/4 but he took the slight discount to stay w/ Utah. Since he never talked to any team, it's impossible to prove I was 100% right, but it just happened to be a slight discount from the rumored 60/4? Seems too convenient.

That's not what you bet, that's what led to the bet. You bet on what he would get offered. Orlando didn't have room to offer him that much. They could have made room, but they didnt.

This sounds like something you originally said, then someone argued differently and then you made a bet stating that he would get the amount you said actually offered to him (which he didn't).

The part you put in quotations doesn't sound like a bet to anyone in particular. Just sounds like a statement. That you were correct about. But not the bet that we are talking about.

Because they werent able to get a meeting with him....

The Jazz knew the offer was going to be there so they made sure to lock him into the slightly discounted price. If it was some 2-bit reporter I wouldn't claim being right, but Tim Bontemps is a very reputable source.

I was right when this report came out.

Since Ingles took no formal meetings w/ other teams this Tim Bontemps report is the best information we have.

It's like when you bet a game and the game gets cancelled. You don't lose, you just push. Ingles didnt play teh FA game w/ any other teams, which is what I was saying.

So either we trust the reputable rumor from Bontemps and I win, or we concede Ingles didnt actually entertain anyone else in FA besides the Jazz so the bet is void because the RFA game never happened.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you.
All I'm saying is that if the bet was that ingles would receive an offer of the amount you stated and then he never received that offer then you lose the bet.
In better words like almost, would have, could have, were ready to, might have, probably would, reports said, blah blah blah don't matter.

If he took no meetings with other teams then it was not possible that he was ever offered the amount you said he would get offered.

Lol, I like you Cy but you are reaching on this one pretty damn hard. The bet was straight forward and clear cut.

@Cy
Simple question for you.
Did any team offer Ingles 15 million per year?

Lol at my @Cy. That **** ain't notifying anybody

Decent point but I think what ingles did isn't the same as a game being cancelled.
I think if free agency in the nba all together was cancelled then you would have a push similar to a game being cancelled.
