What's new

Schroeder likes the Jazz!!!!!!

The only thing that kind of sucks is that now I realize he is just saying Utah because he thinks we won't sign any PG's if we get him. I could see us drafting him and signing someone like Calderon and him getting pissed.

If he thinks he is going to come and play starter minutes he hasn't been paying attention to the Jazz.

Is there any real footage to judge this kid by yet or are we still hyped up from shooting drills?

There is the Nike Hoops Summit game where he led, excelled with and against the top prospects of the 2014 Draft that everyone is salivating over. There are his German pro league stats, as well as all the highlight videos (yeah, highlights can be misleading). What do you want? Him to go play college? Do you really know MCW or Trey Burke's game inside and out? NCAA and NBA are different games. I think the fact that Schroeder has been playing pro against grown men and performing well, and then came here and performed well against our top prospects, and his incredible wingspan, elite speed, monster hands, are enough for me.

Wouldn't it suck if the Bucks traded up and stole Schroeder from us just because Jerry wouldn't be their coach. Those ********.

I'm not sold on his shooting or passing, but his speed, dribbling and inside game are fun to watch. Totally reminds me of Rondo, though Rondo is a great passer.

Video of Schroeder playing. Go to 0:29 for real trash talking: "I know something that never closes anytime...your MOUTH!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuQBjuySvyw

Yeah - really. If I didn't state that difference people would berate me for thinking his passing is comparable to Rondo's. Problem?

Here's a pretty good video scouting report. Just scroll down to "Video Analysis" https://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Dennis-Schroeder-7105/

Needs to develop his midrange game and finish better at the rim. Otherwise I kind of like this kid for our pick if he's there.

I keep reading he has no hops, so don't expect him to ever be a great finisher around the rim.

From what I watched today, he's able to turn it on-off-on, which is very important for a point guard to be patient and under control, yet coiled to attack as well. He's able to do it against 19 year old soon to be freshmen anyway. Many of those guys will drop far after being exposed their first college season so take it with a grain of salt.

I'm not impressed with too many of these young guys unless they're the select few obvious athletic freaks (has anyone pissed their scent on Julius Randle yet?), but he's a guy I'm immediately warm to.
