Second Chance Players?

I guess ct wants this board to himself. going to say good bye for a while when jerks like ct are here.

Don't leave me man.

Just stop posting about how we should get one of the worst wing players in the NBA on our team. I mean, we just got rid of CJ Miles last year, why do we want another player of his caliber on the team?

It's hard to believe that Wes Johnson was the No. 4 overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves back in 2010, because he has done basically nothing special since then. We saw a handful of intriguing games from him as a rookie -- like 29 points (11-21 FG), 3 3-pointers and 3 steals in a mid-March performance -- but outings like that were the rare exception. He offered even less in his second year, so the Wolves shipped him to the Phoenix Suns, where he remained an afterthought until recently, when he saw an uptick in minutes and finally a starting role the past four games. Interim coach Lindsey Hunter likes what he's seen from Johnson of late, according to the Arizona Republic's Paul Coro.

“He’s growing right before our eyes,” Hunter said. “It’s really fun to see. It’s fun to coach a person who accepts it and embraces it. He knows I don’t mean any harm. I want the best for you and best out of you. That’s the gratifying part about coaching.”

In six games this month, Johnson is averaging 12.8 ppg , 47.8 FG%, 1.5 3s and 0.8 SPG. As a starter, he's averaged 14.3 PPG. Not exactly a statistical bonanza for fantasy owners, but perhaps Johnson will be able to carve out a niche in the NBA after all. He will be an unrestricted free agent after this season, so he should be particularly focused on maxing out his production in the waning weeks of this campaign. Deep-league fantasy owners may be able to ride him for scoring, 3s and FG% if he can continue to take advantage of the opportunity at hand.

There is a whole league full of these type of players available for cheap. Anyone notice that Jimmer got a DNP/CD last night?

Wesley Johnson - Is the one that i am the most interested in. Would love to see Carroll and Johnson competing for playing time. I think in the Jazz system Johnson will flourish.

.

I agree with much of what you said, but Wesley Johnson???? As Kevin Pelton of espn once said, "Johnson is a shooter who can't shoot."

Johnson was never much of a shooter IMO. But talk about one hell of an athlete going to the rack!

How does he get to the rack? In his rookie year he only managed 1.2 trips to the line per game (in 26.2 minutes per game). This dude doesn't get to the rack, hence "a shooter who can't shoot".
