Send big al to the bucks

It helped the Jazz surprise a lot of people and make the playoffs?

I guess I wasn't clear. The experiment of making Al play as part of a team, not on top of a team. As in, the team that barely won a lot of games to start (with Al playing particularly poorly), then hit a horrific skid, then imploded, then the Jazz had no other choice than to give Al all the shots he wanted.

Gotcha. I definitely wasn't picking up what you were laying down.

Numb makes valid points; I agree. Kanter does trouble me though. The Summer League was the first real chance to give Kanter some freedom to operate and you know the result. I guess I fear him becoming a bust, so maybe trading him now when his market value is still high -- or maybe it isn't ???

I think Corbin was desperate to win because Big Al appeared to be our only consistent scoring option in the beginning of the season. So every play was throw the ball to Big Al. Unfortunately, this hindered the development of our young guys. My problem with Big Al is ridiculously LAZY defense and the fact that Corbin did not leave Favors in there to make up for Al's slack. Al is a nice guy, but his defeatist attitude against the spurs really pissed me off. The only bright-side of the playoffs was Favors development and glimpse of awesomeness. I say keep AL for one year and somehow convince Millsap to be on the bench, so Favors can take his spot. I would keep Millsap, even if it means overpaying him for a bench position. <<< Cause I love him that MUCH.

I don't think Kanter is going to be a bust, but I highly doubt he will reach all-star levels. He scored 40+ points during the Nike summit, I believe the coaches and Big Al's "training" is somehow holding this kid back.

Kanter is Kosta Koufos with good hands and huge nuts, at worst. Right now, he's good enough to be a 3rd big on a winning team.

His becoming a sane Zach Randolph that plays defense is definitely in question, I agree. But if you traded that before his 2nd year, while his stock was lowest? You can't take that risk, especially since it's not a pressing matter at all.

I want Al gone as well.

But if we're going to be competitive next year (and the Millers would make damn sure that we are to sell tickets) - then we need Big Al.

We're just not going to the Playoffs in the West with Kanter/Evans as our 3rd big (with injuries and what-not).

There's absolutely no way we're trading Big Al. The Millers won't allow it. And they own the damn team!!!

Whe you trade him it's not as if you're not getting anything back.

OK - I do get that. But are we going to get a quality 3rd big back in return? Not likely. So we'll be stuck with Kanter/Evans off the bench as our 3rd bigs when Favors get into foul trouble.

And that's not exactly a recipe for making the playoffs in the West I can assure you. (unless Kanter has a great great year, but judging by the SL games, that's still at least 1-2 years away - even KOC admits it).

Big Al is a black hole on offense and a non-factor on defense - I get that. But he does do some things well (why else would Bucks want to trade for him then?) which had helped to stabilize our front court last season.

Bottom line is as long as Kanter & Evans are not ready to take the responsibility of a 3rd big - there'll be no trade.

Over the long term, he doesn't because if he gets big minutes Favors and Kanter get less minutes. But he's capable of 20 points and 10 rebounds on any given night. That helps the Jazz win some games and be more competitive than if they didn't have Al.

You're trying hard for a captain obvious metal huh?

I am really wondering why the Russian guys do hate Enes Kanter. This shouldn't be just the Jazz not drafting JV. JV isn't even Russian.

Ummm... Isn't this the mindset that we want our owners to have?
