Tay Henny with a stinker tonight 2-13 shooting in a 5 point Stars loss to the Trailblazers JVs. All of the starters for the Stars were pretty bad. Brice came off the bench and played really well and tied Juzang for leading scorer with 21 and was the leading rebounder. The bench including Brice, Kinsey, Miller, Ogenda and Justice played really well. The Stars led by 3 after 3 quarters and had a one point lead with 52 seconds but never scored again.
Maybe it's just the camera angle and distance from the court but gawd, G-League just doesn't look like the place to assess the play of Brice. Players are a step slower and the floor is so open it just suits his skill level to a T. Finessing baskets with a soft body & a ready smile aren't going to serve him well in big league ball.
As to Hendricks, I think he's just younger than his years in terms of maturity and basketball experience which impacts his confidence on this new larger stage. I hope he makes large strides between now and onset of next season. He certainly has the potential.
Hendricks has been pretty mediocre in the GLeague. It's hard to say he deserves to play on the main team yet.
It's early, and progress isn't linear, but it looks like we made massive mistakes passing on Whitmore/Jaquez/Jackson in favor of Brice/Hendricks.

You don't go to the gleague to improve your defense. It is trash basketball where the only benefit is getting in shape.

My concern with both at the moment is their lack of D and court awareness.
They are more likely to improve those aspects of their game with the jazz where they have a smaller more defined role to focus on.
Hendricks and Brice have a lack of D? Have you been talking to Hearsky's mom again?

Tay Henny and Brice have been sent down for the Stars two game series in Mexico City Sunday and Monday afternoons. The Stars also signed a 6'5"guard out of Florida who was a late 2021 second round pick by the Hornets. He was a two way player for the Hornets for one season but has had injury issues since.
