What's new

Serious question: Why are people rooting for the Jazz to win this year?

Also, the Jazz are a great organization. They aren't the Clippers or Timberwolves or even the Bulls. They are run better. In fact, the only better run organizational may be the Spurs.

The reason why the Jazz are a great organization is because they don't tank for high draft picks like the teams you have mentioned they play to win!!

The point of drafting is because the Jazz can't attract major stars. So they have to get them in the draft. Yes we drafted Dwill and he left. But he wouldn't have left if we had another star. That's why we need to draft as many high picks as we can. That are also close in drafting years. And also so that we have bird rights over all if them. That way we increase our odds that we can create the 2 or 3 superstar dynamic. Also if we don't get the stars paired, then we might end up losing a guy like favors. Same situation as deron's.

The window to do that is right now. Haven't you noticed that we have never been in this situation? This is a rare opportunity.

I can't see a better way to do it from the stand point of being a long time jazz fan.

Williams didn't leave us, he got his *** traded to NJ.

If only the Jazz had listened to me when I wrote this. Could you imagine this lineup for this year:

Lilliard
Hayward
Barnes
Favors
Kanter

Damn, I hate being right all the time. I'm just glad that 99% of you have come around to finally seeing what I saw back then:

Our "leaders" suck, our coach sucks, and we need to sink or swim with the young guys.

You da man!.... you were pretty much right, but like i said in one of my posts on this page... How do the jazz tank? Play burks, hayward, favors, and kanter lots of minutes? I think we actually might have one more games.... Do you tell the players to try to miss shots and play crappy defense?..... Do you sign ben handlogten, keith mcleoud and morris almond for a year?

What do you think the jazz should have done to tank? I mean they played bell and howard as starters and played earl and watson lots of back up point guard minutes.
Plus they played big al more minutes than anyone...... Kinda seems like they were tanking, but it just didn't work.

That does look like a good lineup... coming off the bench.

Other teams (like the warriors) can tank by playing thier backups more and benching the starters
With the jazz it seems that almost everyone on the team is about the same good so benching the starters does not accomplish "tanking" with this particular jazz team.

Why did/do we need to tank? We already have a roster full of young players that Corbin won't play. Do we need more?

I don't need to root for my team to lose. It normally happens anyway. What I root for is for a team like Dallas to win so we'll have better shot at getting McCollum in the draft. The Mavericks are so incompetent right now it's infuriating.
