I think this had to have been 10 years ago but bumped into a guy wearing a Westminister College golf shirt in a Nampa, Idaho restaurant and thought the guy kind of looked like John Stockton. I thought "I bet he hears that a lot." The next morning I pick the paper up and yup it was him. He was in the valley watching his son play hoops for Westminister.

Karl Malone walked into a Jamba Juice on 400 south while I was there during their Finals run in 1997. Also, saw him at a Boys Club-type event when I was a kid back when he was driving around in a tricked out truck.

Rudy Gobert came into a Game Stop the day before Christmas this year while I was shopping there. Dude's pretty low-key. He drives a black Range Rover with the license plate Gobzlla.

In San Francisco, quite often visiting NBA teams stay at the Four Seasons hotel on Market Street. I've seen a bunch of guys there -- Westbrook, Paul George, Chris Kamman, etc.

I met a lot of jazz players back when the summer league was at East high (John crotty was one). Most memorable was sitting next to blue Edwards for a game. His fashion was bizarre. Side note: Shawn Kemp playing in summer league straight from high school was one of the most amazing things I ever saw. Most athletic dude ever at that time. So fun to watch up close in a tiny gym

Met Dee brown and Carlos boozer at a night club (lumpys) after a playoff win against the Spurs. My drunk *** did a chest bump with boozer which I thought was really cool.

Met D-Will at another nightclub (Bliss I think) and he was a giant douche.

Met and talked to Sloan at fanzz store below the arena. I stupidly questioned his coaching rotations of playing giricek over deshaun Stevenson lol. He didn't appreciate that. I understand. I was a douche for even bringing it up.

Met Eaton at my high school.

Sat kinda close to Karl at a summer league game at SLC community college but didn't actually meet him. He was skinnier than I thought he would be (most basketball players are skinnier in real life than they look on tv imo)

I did see a jazz player picking up a take out meal from Ruth's Chris (my favorite) one time but can't remember for sure who it was. I think it was carroll

Ingles is a beanpole!

I saw Mike Brown at the food court of Cottonwood Mall.

Tyrone Corbin (player) when they were broadcasting at some restaurant.

Greg Foster in the locker room of The Treehouse in Draper.

Got autograph from John Crotty (first stint) before a game after I had just bought a pack of cards that had him in it.

Sat next to Jerry and his wife at Tiburon in Sandy.

I got pulled over once by Olden Polynice. Not the best way to meet him, but it was better than my buddy’s encounter on a golf course.
Lol pulled over by Polynice, sadly too many jazz fans met him that way.

Heres a few more, Jerry sloan lives next to Ron Boone in a gated community in the olympus cove, one of my best friends growing up also happened to live a few houses over from them and whenever wed see jerry we would wave and hedcalways wave back wearing his john deere hat. I met John stockton at an elementary school i worked at. Our school had won a reading competition and first place school got a visit from stockton. Our class was a special ed class so we were on the front row and he shook our hands, i remember one of the teachers sitting next to me leaned over and remarked to me how big his hands were, she was from chicago and a huge bulls fan, and apparently didnt know that all jazz fans knew stockton had huge hands. I met memo and mcleod at another school. I ran an after school program on the west side and memo and mcleod showed up unannounced and memo walked up and asked me how he could help while i was helping some kids with their homework and i said hi and sent him out to play some basketball with some older kids. When i worked at subway back in the day Bryon Russell would come through the drive thru regularly in his black escalade and order a footlong BLT with extra double bacon. He dropped us a 100 dollar tip once. Steve Brown the broadcaster would also regularly come through that same drive and at the time we were handing out free jazz schedules with subway promotions on the back of them. When steve brown pulled up i asked him if he wanted one so he knew when to watch them and before he could say anything i said im just kidding Steve, and he smirked and took his sandwich. Lastly i saw luther Wright filling up his car at a gas station and yelled out the window, Lutherrrrr! He turned and flashed me a peace sign.

How the heck does a clip on a dog’s leash become unclipped? That would’ve been literally impossible with the leashes we had for our dogs, which were just regular old leashes. And you couldn’t yell the dog’s name so it stopped running?

Sounds like amateur hour.
I had him on a leash because he doesnt listen, im not a professional dog walker just an amateur. Having said that im not quite sure how it came loose, only time it ever happened, my sister who had actually clipped it on and was holding the leash had never actually clipped it on or walked him so maybe she didnt fully clip it, all i know is as soon as it clipped off he was gone like he was shot out of a cannon, he was still a pup and was used to running there when i would let him off when no one was around, just happened that day the clip failed and he ruined oldens picnic, i wish i could say i did it on purpose but if i had i wouldnt have been to meet him it would have been to ruin his picnic:)

So ive met a few jazz players but i wanted to share the time i met Olden Polynice.
So for those familiar with the area at the top of 45th South in Salt Lake there is a park named olympus hills park and this is where i walked my dog every day. My dog was a boxer about 65lbs all muscle, so anyway im walking my dog and across a larger flat grassy area theres a large black guy and his wife/girlfriend sitting on a blanket they had laid out having a picnic, at this same moment somehow the clip on my dogs leash comes unclipped and my dog goes tearing off 100mph right towards this couple on the blanket and my dog just busts right through their blanket and starts jumping and twirling all over their blanket, so me being totally horrified go running over there as fast as i could to gather up my tsunami of a dog yelling sorry as im running as i get closer i notice the man is none other than olden polynice, apparently he lived just down the street. As i approached and gathered my dog he was understandably upset and yelling something about how my dog needing to be leashed and i explained it was an accident and he left to go get some napkins or something to clean himself up and his wife/girlfriend who was about as nice as Olden gets all huffy and says, " you people need to leave him alone, we just want to be alone and not have fans always trying to meet us and bug us, and i said im sorry mam but i couldnt tell who he was and it was an accident and if it wasnt i would never purposefully do that, she got all bent and huffy and rolled her eyes and yelled something about you people again, and i asked why would i do that on purpose its olden polynice not john stockton and walked away. I saw olden a couple days later at the 7 eleven down the street from the park he looked straight at me shook his head in disgust. i smirked and he left

When I was in high school I groomed Bryon Russell’s Rottweilers, and Adam Keefe’s Bull mastiff. Russell was always super chill to the point I wondered if he was on something. Lol would always have an Entourage Of his boys with him too. I did not like Adam Keefe he wasn’t real talkative, didn’t look you in the eye or anything, wouldn’t talk to me or act human.

I met Eaton at my high school before I was in high school. He was running the track. Me and my friends watched in awe as he ran, he must’ve noticed us ogling him because he came over when he was done and talked to us and he signed my Stockton jersey.

met Deron and Collins at McDonald’s got Collins sig, Williams ducked out before I could get his. Of course at that time I still liked that bum!!

Enes Kanter at the Four Seasons in San Francisco. Shared the same elevator... I didn’t really say much as it was a busy day, but wished him luck at the game.

Thee jazz fan groomed Adam Keefe’s bull mastiff. Sounds sexual. And painful.

2005-2006 season. Emailed Linda Luchetti (PR manager at the time) about how hard was to follow the Jazz from Peru and that it would be a dream come true if one day I could actually meet the team. She emailed back telling me she could introduce me to the whole team if I ever come to SLC. And that's exactly what I did. Flew from Lima to SLC.

Met the whole team (Memo, Dwill, Millsap, Boozer, Brewer, etc), except AK. That bastard always stayed in the locker room reading a book during shoot around. Couldn't meet Jerry either. He was chatting with some old ladies and didn't want to interrupt him. Got pics and autographs from everyone.

Everyone, from management to players were really nice. I remember there were some spoiled kids who were jelous of all the attention I was getting. Little wankers.

My sister buys a new jazz hat every year and goes to shoot around several times to hang out at the e it to get signatures. She usually gets the entire team to stop at least once.

I met Kosta Koufas twice.

First when he played for the Jazz at the Greek Festival downtown SLC. I asked him if he really said, "Boom, Bitches!" He laughed and said no.
The second was when he was with the Kings. He was outside of a restaurant in front of the Millennium Biltmore in Los Angeles. He was with 3 or 4 escorts and they were all drunk waiting for a cab or something. I looked at him and said, "yeah, buddy." He just laughed. I never acknowledge who he was.
