Should Alec Burks be the Jazz future PG?

What Cyrone said. A PG is a mentality--directing the offense, setting up plays, pushing the ball. A team normally needs a real PG, a game-manager type.

I don't disagree with that, obviously, my point is what if you have one that is not very good at those things? Then you may as well just put another 6'8 guy on the floor that can make plays .. rather than a much smaller guy that can't. Just saying sometimes we try to hard to find someone on a team to play a certain role when that person doesn't exist .. then you improvise.

Well if you have a back-court of a bunch of 6'6 and taller guys, you are going to have a hell of a time guarding the opposing team's PG.
 
I just don't see a huge advantage of having a 6'8 PG (unless they are extremely good, ala Magic). I would rather have a guy who can give people fits staying in front of him and forcing teams to bring help D on penetration.
 
Burks is the ideal size for a 2 really.

If he got the skills I wouldnt mind him being a pg, but thats the question we all have including this FO.
 
Yes!!1! What a brilliant idea! Burks of course should be our starting PG. Hell he should be our ONLY PG and the rest should be amnestied, fired or shot. In fact, I think with Burks onboard we should only play 4 on 5 so it's fair to everyone else since he will require a constant double-team on offense, defense, during time-outs, and in the post-game interviews.
 
What is with insecure people that must, at all times, put down others in here to show how smart they think they are? I am all for the back and forth with opinions that I have gotten into for years here, but this place is sucking more and more with the no esteem IRL people just internet bashing their way to self supposed relevance.

FWIW I think the worst thing on JF right now is the constant repetition of threads, with the exact same thread barely a half page below it on the list. If morans would quit being morans they wouldn't be called out as morans.

It's a 'thing.' I'd explain what that means but it defeats its purpose.
