Should have did McGee for Jeff if it was ever offered.

You do it if you trust the rest of the team to anchor the offense. Obviously some pieces to be added to this trade for it to work.

Someone on the Jazz would have eventually strangled McGee and we would have lost 2 players(one to death row). The guy is athletic as can be, just not very smart. He is also a terrible FT shooter.

I agree about Mcgee prince. I would have moved Al for him too. Denver was smart in that trade. Mcgee will continue to get better I think. A lot of upside there.

Except he is a RFA this year, and will likely get an offer above what Utah would want to pay. He's also got a screw loose, which I'm not completely against taking a chance on, but added to the contract concern, and this is a no from me.

Utah should have traded Al at the deadline, but it should have been for pieces to build with for the future.

McGee sucks so bad. Jefferson failed to deliver but he at least can do some things well. If there is a player in the NBA whose ratio of athletic talent vs stupidity is more apparent than in McGee I would like to see it pointed out.

He's got the longest standing reach (higher than Shaq's) and wing-span of any person in the NBA by far. He also has decent athleticism and mobility (his physical gifts are extremely rare). DeAndre Jordan got a contract worth over 10 million/year. At 24, he will get this for sure. He is an absolute imbecile, however, and requires out of this world coaching and probably tough love. At 10 mill., I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.

I do this trade quickly, but I may not be general manager material. Javalee has so much talent, and God-Given characteristics that are perfect for basketball. Unfortunately, he has proven to be unbrilliant. On a side note, I would trade Al for pretty much anything that increases Favors/Haywards/Burks opportunities to have the ball in their hands.

Problem is McGee has not mentally "got it" yet, and is a restricted FA after this year with a lot of rich owners eying him. Some owner would offer him DeAndre Jordan plus money, and KOC would end up not matching. The end result - losing Al for nothing.

Jefferson got us into the playoffs by beating sub-500 teams, then disappeared. MOAR of that please.

I am not saying he was great in the playoffs but his postseason stats were better than regular season. He scored 18 points per game shooting a percentage above .500, 8.5 boards, 1.25 assists and .75 blocks is not disappearing. Jefferson changing in the playoffs is not the reason we struggled. His offense was the same and his defense was the same as regular season.

Offensively Millsap and Hayward are the 2 players that disappeared in the playoffs.

No to that trade, even with Al not being part of the future you can get something back in a trade, or a draft pick. McGee is a free agent, and I remember reading that he was looking for a 14 million$ a year, so we aren't getting anything in return for him.

you give up a guy who sucks in defense, and you bring a guy who do nothing but go for blocking in defense
thats pretty much same ****, at least jefferson can score

Javale can rebound better than Jefferdad too, and can score close to the basket. Hey, Al Jefferson is the black hole, Favors can make up atleast half of Al's average. Lets not act like Jefferson averaged 20 a game, he didn't.

Quit being an *** and acting like Jefferson is deserved more than McGee. The only problem is he is a free agent.

Id take Mcgee over Jefferson for sure. That **** is a no brainer. You just arent going to count in him as your main scorer. Which is fine. More pointd to go around for everyone else. Its pretty simple. We have plenty of people that we could go to instead of Al. I promise his offense wont be missed.

I warship you dawg, you a good man.

I mean it too.

Al Jefferson does dumb **** too, he's pretty transparent. You know in a possession Jefferson is going to either pump fake, shoot a mid range jumper in face up or post up. When he's on defense, hey thats your points right there. Atleast McGee contests shots and can finish. You're just saying this because you're a Jazz fan. I said before you can't teach brains, but you can better your abilities. McGee has the abilities that if they are polished, he can be a top 5 big in the league. Yeah, I said it. I know a camp of tards are going to go on a tangent to rip that down..

You know the one thing that is funny about this forum? We will rip our own players like they are so invaluable, but yet when you start talking about "Maybe we should pursue trading ? for this ?," there is never a player that appeals or pleases anyone. Javale McGee gave the Nuggets a fresh kick of life that helped them secure a playoff position, was a highly praised player by NBA TV analysts (The smart guys are on NBA TV), and he became a fan favorite at Denver pretty damn quick. But yet we are are going to defend a guy who's game is based on a 1960's one dimensional center?

Get real.

I'm sure AJ is done in Utah, and I'm done defending him. I guess McGee could get better, Hawes took what, 5 years? But he just doesn't seem like a guy that learns from his dumb plays.

Don't know what KOC can get for Al, but I don't want McGee.
