They should, and he'll probably stay. If Fav remains starting-PF calibre over the next several years I simply can't see him leaving Utah. Which I'm very fine with. Great dude.

I really hope that's the case as well - great guy, great player. I do think, in some ways, it's going to be contingent on Favors extending his range and continued chemistry between him and Gobert. I've read enough nuggets now indicating that Lindsey and Snyder both have questions about offensive spacing that make me think this is very much a discussion that's being had.

I think that you're generally a good poster, but this rant you have been going on lately about the Jazz dissing Favors is weird. I hope that DF is not as prone to flying off the handle as a result of unsubstantiated rumors as you are.

And by the way, GM's discuss trading various players all the time, so it is silly to get so bent out of shape about this (especially because you regularly participate in discussions about trading players). Players have no choice but to accept the fact that trades can happen. You should too.

If a GM does not look at all possibilities then they are not fully doing their job imo. Anything that you find out, comes along or is brought up should be looked at as long as it takes to make an informed decision.

If that involves hearing out another teams pitch for Favors and then discussing it within your FO then so be it. Due diligence.

Of course a player's performance will slip some in the playoffs. They are facing better teams, defenses, and player matchups. Millsap has a career regular season PER of 19.1. His cumulative playoffs PER is 18.1. He's been fine in the playoffs.

If DL is shopping Favors he's not being public about it... or at least, he's not telling anyone but you. You talk as if you have sources. If so, cite them. Otherwise you might want to ramp back the drama.

And the rumor this year (granted it is shaky from Jody's source) is that the Jazz were interested in Millsap and were looking to trade Derrick.

In both cases, the rumors from sources were presented as if the Jazz were the instigators, not that they were merely listening to offers that had come their way. And what "drama" am I ramping up? I'm merely saying it appears the Jazz have tried to shop Derrick. And if I were him, I'd be offended. Wouldn't that be the case with any one of us?

I don't think trade rumors = DL was definitely trying to trade favors.

Seems like it got pretty serious last year before one of the teams backed out. As I recall, the sticking point was that more was wanted from the Jazz (Burks and another 1st rounder). Maybe I'm misremembering, but the story was that DL wouldn't include Alec...and then the trade fell apart. To me, that represents pretty good proof that DL was very willing to give up Derrick. And it's also one of the reasons I tend to believe Jody's source.

DL should listen to offers especially when the offer is wiggins. I don't see the problem. No player on our team is untradeable. I would trade any of our guys for steph or the brow. Does that mean I don't value favors or I want him gone? I don't think so.
