Should the NBA get rid of back to backs?

Hey guys, have you all considered the implications of a long road trip without B2Bs?

I mean a road trip of 5 games might take 7-8 days with B2Bs, but if we eliminate B2Bs it could take up to 11-12 days if we count travelling days as well?

That's quite a long time away from home. It also affect the home crowd not being able to see their team play for a long time?

If you say we can make the road trips have less games - doesn't that mean more trips for the players, causing more fatigues?

The above strikes me as some of the major challenges in doing away with B2B's. It will necessitate either (a) longer road trips or (b) more, shorter road trips, assuming the league sticks with the 82 game schedule (I find it doubtful that owners would accept less revenue to reduce the number of games, plus it would almost certainly means lower player salaries, and for this reason, I don't see it happening. Beside, as a fan, I like 82 games; I like lots of basketball games, but I would not mind stretching them over a longer period of time.)

The last time the NBA had a 60 game regular season (excluding strike shortened seasons) was nearly 70 years ago in 1948. Back when there were only TWELVE (12) teams. In order for the league to survive financially with only 60 games, there would most certainly be a contraction of teams in the NBA. Guess which teams would be on the chopping block?...The small market teams like the Jazz.

Yeah, it's a stupid idea.

Personally I'd like to see the NBA cut the season to 60 games and place a heavier emphasis on divisions ala the NFL.

Yup division. Creat rivalries.
Players can play more games if they are in there local fly zones. This will create more rivalry like we had with Denver back in the Deron days.
One here one there a day later than one here a day later again.
Same with LA, GSW. It is like a hour flight no big deal.
It will also increase ticket sales and prices as ever one knows rivalries are big sellers.

League will not do this cause they are afraid of more brawls an bad press. I do not see why. Let the players play. There will be fights just straight it out afterwards.

Yup this what i am talking about. But oh those home cooked meals!!! Lol like players care about home cooked meals over the vast buffet the Jazz an opposing teams feed them.
