If it was possible, yes.

I dont think it was possible though. Pretty sure reports were they wanted Hood.

Yeah but do you think the Hawks could ever get anyone or any offer better than Burks though? Teague is on his last year next year and could leave in FA ... clearly nobody was willing to give up assets to get his rental and most teams already have a franchise PG locked up, except Jazz and only a few others.

Sounded like the Hawks were looking for a Starting caliber player and a first round pick. which probably meant Hood and a first. I don't think they would have wanted to trade Teague for an injured Burks, unless they were tearing it down.

A very good 6th man is not a luxury for good team. It is a necessity. I don't think Alec is the guy you trade here. Burke and Booker.... Sure. Go for it!

I don't find Burks to be a very good anything.

Other teams were also rumored to be after Teague, but nothing serious was ever leaked. To me that says the Hawks were just fishing to see if someone would seriously overpay (like Hood + a first). I think what it comes down to is teams in the playoff hunt were just not willing to break up their starting units. That may change completely if Horford leaves Atlanta, Howard leaves Houston, etc. There are also going to be some shakeups when teams go after the bigger FA's and may need to clear additional space. Utah COULD get a mid-tier veteran if that happens. A long-shot, but we can always hope.

Should we have traded Hayward for Teague and Sefolosha?

If we had signed DMC with our available cap space last summer, something like that may have been a good trade. A true 3&D player at SF and an fringe all-star to put on the trading block, getting back a nice haul of assets and not having to worry about paying him $30M+ in another season.

Our GM is incredibly short-sighted.
