When your major free-agent acquisition is John Lucas III, then you aren't trying to win games. If the FO's vision isn't being realized, then there are things they can do about it.

As for me, I've become worn out with the hype of this draft class. I like that the young guys are getting better, and that the reigns are in their hands. But it sucks that we're playing ourselves into no-man's land. I wish that were different. JL3 FTW!!!

Yup. RJ should be bought out immediately. That should have happened the second he was acquired, but what's done is done.

If they release him then the rotations will deteriorate to where Kanter and Favors are playing together, more Evans at 4, more Gobert, and Marvin at the 3 instead of stretching the floor. Screwing with the rotations will lose games now and these lineups will lose more games later.

It appears that DL and the Millers don't have the stomach to get out of no-man's land, and they're going to lose a whole lot of fans permanently if they don't fix this. No one wants to root for a loser who doesn't try.

No you wouldn't. So, in 2 years, you take home 1.5 million. You lose 30% of that to federal taxes and another 5-15% to state taxes. That leaves $900,000. If you want that to last your whole life and you are just 34, that means that you would only get about $36,000 a year to live on, and you would have to pay taxes on that.

I know this has been discussed ad nauseam here, but I'd like to add the perspective of a fan who has followed the Jazz since they first moved to Salt Lake City. The Jazz were fortunate to have a great coach in Sloan as well as Stockton and Malone for so many years. I will admit to being spoiled by the consistency of the team, and despite coming up short in two finals, I always felt like there was a shot that the Jazz could make it again someday.

With the way free agency has changed, and the absolute fact that SLC is not exactly a thrilling prospect for a free agent, especially given our lack of a good coach or even a single all star caliber player. I find myself a bit conflicted about what the Jazz should do. I am vehemently against deliberate losing games, but I was completely on board with doing the unload during last off season to free up playing time for the young players. Unfortunately this has not played out at all like I expected. Marvin and RJ are getting way too many minutes, and my feeling is that if the Jazz rebooted to give the young players the opportunity to play, they should get a lot more minutes.

It's infuriating to hear RJ talk about chasing a ring and he still starts. He won't be here next year, not that he is wanted and yet gets way too many minutes. The Jazz now sit with the 8th worst record in the league, which will probably still result in a good player in this year's draft, but then what happens? Unless the Jazz get really lucky with their pick, it will be another rotation player and the team will be no closer to contending for anything other than perhaps an eighth seed.

I realize there are still a lot of games to play, but it is looking grim. If there is truly a disconnect between the coaching staff and front office, perhaps it is time to cut Corbin loose and appoint someone as an interim coach and put them on a rather short leash. Again, I don't want the Jazz to deliberately lose, but if they are going to win, I would like it to be with Kanter , Burks and Gobert getting a lot more minutes. There is something about seeing the Lakers and Celtics getting a better pick than the Jazz that really makes me ill.

Most people that are 34 are starting with negative net worth. I doubt he owns his home AND has no student loan debt AND has no credit car debt AND has no car debt, etc. If he does, congrats, he is amazing.

Also, I have been 100% against firing Ty for a lot of reasons, BUT, a thought occurred to me while reading your post. Fire Ty, make Lowe the interm HC.

I have zero credit card debt, no car payment, no student loans, and while my house is not paid for i could sell it for a decent amount more than i owe

thats stupid. why would you invest $20 mill into the arena just to sell it? and the miller family would be black balled by the state of utah and their business would be severely hurt if they moved the only local professional team out of the state.

....whatever they have invested they will get back 10 fold when they sell the team! Since interest in the Jazz is waning faster than the sinking Titanic, nobody in SLC is going to hold it against them that they had to sell the team! If the Millers are not interested or serious in building a team that can't play much better than .500 ball....why should the fanz care! You want to get some bang for your buck...and anybody that pays good money to see this and recent Jazz teams is flushing it down the drain!

The Lakers and Celtics have far more financial flexibility and longevity in their big markets than the Jazz do. That allows them to absorb the negative aspects of losing. That and the fact that neither team would have a problem luring a max free agent makes it much easier for them to recover.
