What's new

since trey's return we are 7-8

No road runs straight. Always some forks in the road. Which forks we take will ultimately decide where this franchise goes. Management didn't lose their will, they were never going there anyway. You heard what you wanted to hear IMO. Can anyone, anywhere lead me to any quotes from Jazz management or ownership that even imply that they were trying to tank this season? If you can, i will cease and desist arguing this point. Closest thing i have heard is that they were giving the fan base what they wanted which was to develop our young players. If you heard a different message that is because that's what you wanted to hear. That developing our young players would lead to a less competitive team was only obvious. That my friends is not a "tank job"!

You can't be serious. They took on Golden State's absolute trash. Jefferson was thought to be completely washed up its been a huge surprise he is even serviceable. Biedrins....no comment. Rush was recovering from an acl so also a huge risk. One of the worse, low efficiency chucking point guards ever was signed to backup Burke. The Jazz meant to tank, but Burke has just been too good.

There is your answer grandpa...... allah dat is evidence that the jazz intended to tank.

If they were not intending to tank, they would have resigned Millsap, Foye and carroll, picked up a decent point guard (calderon or something) and had a starting lineup of calderon/burke, foye, hayward, millsap, favors...... with a bench of calderon/burke, burks, carroll, marvin, kanter.

We would be competing for the playoffs right now instead of competing for top draft picks.

acquiring biedrins, jefferson, rush, and john lucas...... along with letting millsap, carroll, foye, mo, big al walk is all the evidence i need to know that we were planning to tank.

The league sees trash as Utah sees diamonds in the rough.
I knew for a fact that RJ wasn't as bad as Golden State made him out to be, because Golden State has always been a horribly run franchise.
Rush was low risk because of an expiring contract, and Biedrins was the throw in.
I don't consider this a tank by the front office either, but I did see it as an attempt to fill out pay in the roster.... and try to get players that Corbin hopefully wouldn't start over the young guys.

Grandpa, no front office is ever going to publicly admit that they are tanking. I can't even think of a single incident of a team admitting to it after the fact, and with good reason. But if you don't think that teams in the NBA purposely tank all the time you are not paying very close attention.

So, your saying the front office thought that Favors, Hayward, and Burke were so bad they would lead us to a bottom record in the NBA? We took on trash to get assets, and maybe to force Corbin's hand. I would agree there was no goal to make the playoffs. That's not the same as aiming to get the worst record, or even a bottom 3 record.

If not going for the playoffs what were we going for?????

A team that finishes 9-12th in the west this year is an absolute waste!!!

After the offseason I see no other reason for Lindsey to keep Corbin as coach and vets starting other than we were guaranteed a top 3 pick by Stern.

I'd still say that he is average for starting pgs in the NBA. He just looks amazing because we spent a month watching Lucas.

this is what avg rookie pgs do in their 1st season.

1. makes bonehead mistakes. WTF TOs
2. he has potential. let's see what he can do next couple of years. he might be our guy
3. is he pg? is he a combo guard?
4. clutch? lol
5. occasional good stretch
6. questionable handles
7. assist/to ratio? lol
8. leadership? lol

that's the avg rookie pg.
