Rudy isn't a good offensive player, but it doesn't help to completely avoid him. Which the Jazz do. There are plenty of times where he rolls to the basket and he should get the pass, especially a lob. Hayward is really guilty of it. He doesn't seem like he wants to pass to Rudy at all. Rudy isn't good on offense. But it doesn't help to keep him no good and avoid him. They should have been trying to get him involved last year. So the progression could get started. But they didnt. And they are still not doing it. It's gonna continue to be a problem if they don't work on it. They need to give him the green light to shoot a mid range jumper every once in a while too.
The longer they wait to work on this the worse mistake it is. Last year would have been a great throw away year to work on it. But they didn't. Now we have Rudy still at his lowest offensive level. No playoff run to show for the reason you didn't want to do it. And we got a worse draft pick and picked no game Lyles.
The Jazz are good at compounding problems.
