Sltrib- The Party line on Roster changes

Lost in the speculation is AK. Sounds like he will not be coming back.

So long old friend, in your early days you brought excitement and energy that renewed my waning interest, which blossomed into hope for a Jazz future without the Two Great Ones, for that I thank you.

I will always wonder what might have been had you not signed that monster deal that put pressure on you, that you could not carry and changed all of our expectations. I will also forever wish that I could have seen what a healthy AK cold have done on a Don Nelson or D’Antoni team.

It is sadly ironic that you depart Jazzland shortly after Jerry. He struggled to find a way to use you, and you struggled to understand his profanity laced metaphors and idioms. By contract you two were inseparable, and yet each of you were a millstone around the others neck. You leave Jazzland, not in angst or glory, but silently slip away, always to be remembered for what might have been. And so closes another chapter of Jazz history.

Heart felt eulogy. When is the viewing?

tinsley has a Mark Jackson vs Stockton potential.

Tinsley for one, never has been known to be a good leader or a player with much attitude.

Bringing him in would not help our chemistry. Besides, in his mind, he's a starter. I can easily see him coming in, bashing Devin, dividing up the young locker room to try to gather support, and giving coach Corbin hell for every little thing.

No thanks, I'll pass. Give me Earl Watson. Earl knows his place and won't attempt to rock the boat. With a young coach with a lot to prove and a very young and immature team, we need to avoid the Tinsleys, Melos, Rashweed Wallaces, and other punkasses of the league.

With so many young-and-still-developing guys on our roster, it makes sense for Coach Ty and KoC to actually SEE on the court what they actually have NOW to work with before deciding what moves, if any, are needed via trade or FA. A LOT of questions need to be answered...
If Miilsap can really play SF, which he's worked at off-season, why re-sign AK?
If Evans now has a reliable jumper, which he's been working on, can he put in more PT at SF?
If Burks can actually handle PG early-on, why would we need Watson?
If Burks is good enough now to make our rotation as a SG, and/or Ronnie Price (I know, I know) has improved with his off-season workouts, do we need to keep Raja Bell?
Is Okur actually fully recovered from his injury, ready to be part of our rotation at C?
Will Kanter, very young and sort of a project, be part of our rotation this season?

Ah, Crap. How could I forget Evans. I think he has a bright future and is capable of far more than Early-oops. I hope he managed to put on 20-30 pounds this extended offseason.

From the charity game, I would say 5 pounds. 10 max. But I agree with you guys about his future. I'm not really even worried about his size, just his development of a shot. I mean, even if he gains 20-30 pounds, he still isn't backing up anybody in the post and I think his length and athletic ability are fine on defense. We don't necessarily need him to get bigger, we need him to become a 3.

We don't need Raja Bell, but he's under contract.
Good luck getting rid of him, we will probably have to eat the contract unless we can work out a trade with the Clippers or some other unsuspecting and not so smart front office.

I think there is a chance that Raja has a much better year this year. Last year he was trying to return after basically sitting out all year, he quickly got frustrated, then the team exploded.

In order to keep his frustration in check, he needs to understand his role. He's a bench guy now. We need 15 solid minutes a night from him. At least I hope this is his role. I don't want 30 min of Raja while Burks and Hayward rot on the bench.

Corbin must have been blind if he keeps Hayward and Burks on the bench and play Bell more than 20min.

it is very good news that JAZZ will see what they got first. Trading MILLSAP without checking how this lineup works is stupid.
I feel great about new JAZZ team, we look ahead instead of looking where Dwill find big three.
