I appears that "no homo" is a fashionable slang hip hop term that some people in some circles use without really meaning anything by it.

That attempt at justification has been applied to any number of words and phrases. It completely ignores the culture around the phrase and the situations in which it is used.

Hibbert didn't say he was straight. He used a common term of alienation against a minority group.
