I'm getting really excited for Wednesday's Gold Cup matches. I would LOVE to face Mexico in the final.
This is the first time that I've ever felt like the US has some serious depth.

It's a turf/carpet, yeah. In the first picture is pretty close to what the field looked like that I played on growing up. Indoor is a nice change of pace and fun during the winter with all the snow outside. Or even during the summer in between different tournaments. The youth leagues in Utah are fall/spring with tournaments throughout the summertime and nothing during winter (That's when many kids play the local rec basketball leagues, Jr. Jazz, which is pretty popular there). People play indoor soccer year round though at different comp levels with co-ed offered as well.

Well considering we are fielding our B team it's not as significant as Fox Soccer will have you believe but still would be great to win. Our A team is focusing on the world cup qualifiers, biggest one is against Mexico in September and I just got my tickets for it.

Gold Cup IS a bit of a big deal... it's the gateway to the Confederations Cup, which would be another great tourney for our A team to participate in. So ya... it's kind of a big deal.

I'm not entirely sure if rules got modified in the last decade, but by nowadays' rules that's not a handball...A handball requires the player to make an unnatural and active movement. The defender's arm is like glued to his body, if anything it moves slightly away from it. It's a deflection from within 4yards, not within human reaction time and since his arm wasn't in an illegal position it's the right call. I'd rather say the ball might have been behind the line.
Btw Oliver Kahn has always been my fav player...His hometown/birthplace is the city in which I study coincidentally. His nickname "The Titan" is also very appropriate...
Because of that game and the semifinal I lost a bet and had to get a mohawk haircut...
