If I won the lottery.....
***BLATANT ATTEMPT TO REVIVE THE ORIGINAL THREAD***
Anyways (utahn there, with the "s" on the end)...if I won the lottery, I would help people. And what I mean by that is people that sometimes need help and don't get it. I know I can't help everyone, but I would try where I could. I know plenty of people who fall solidly in the "middle-class", which is actually an interesting group. They probably make enough money to appear somewhat better off, but are largely a catastrophic event away from financial collapse, and afterward it can be devastating trying to put the pieces back together. Illness, job loss, etc. can make this happen. I experienced this with cancer. And later with job loss and 2 years of looking for work. But in the end we were not well enough off to absorb something like that, but too well off to get any assistance, from the state or the church. I want to help some folks like that, give them a fresh start. Find that family devastated by heavy medical bills and help them out of the situation. Help where we can and where we know there wouldn't normally be any help coming.
I would also be an anonymous $5000 tipper at times. I have left $100 for a tip more than once, when we got the vibe the waiter or waitress could really use it.
Lastly, I would set up a series of trusts for my kids, to help them in life without coddling them. Reach this age or accomplish this thing, get a reward. I don't know. I would still help them with daily life kinds of things, but I think it would be better for them to work for what they get instead of just having it handed to them.
I don't know, something like that. Realistically I would probably nearly become a hermit. Get some property, leave me alone. Get off my lawn you damn kids!!
