Here's a list of some FA that the Jazz might be able to use.

Anthony Tolliver

11.7 ppg, 7 rpg, and almost a block.

Leon Powe

I always thought Powe looked like an awesome bench player up until his knee surgery. I still think he would be a great energy guy.

Josh Powell

What could he do with some playing time?

Ian Mahinmi

He's supposedly grown into his own. He's a shot blocker, who gets into foul trouble.

Here's a full list of FA's. Who are some other dudes the Jazz could use?

And now that we have listed the players that will populate the open market, let's take a quick look at the teams that will have the most money to play with this summer.

This following data is based on the salary cap being set at $56.1 million. (It also assumes the most likely scenarios for each organization – i.e. Eddy Curry won't opt out of the final year of his deal which pays him a whooping $11.3 million; and the Knicks will exercise Bill Walker's $854k team option.)

New York Knicks - $18.6 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $37.5 Million (Keep in mind that each of these teams will have to account for a certain number of minimum salary cap holds, thus they won't be able to spread the total cap space amount amongst just a few select players.)

New Jersey Nets - $25.9 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $30.2 Million

Miami HEAT - $30.7 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $25.4 Million

Chicago Bulls - $31.9 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $24.2 Million

Sacramento Kings - $33.2 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $22.9 Million

Los Angeles Clippers - $33.5 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $22.6 Million

Minnesota Timberwolves - $35 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $21.1 Million

Oklahoma City Thunder - $40.2 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $15.9 Million

Washington Wizards - $41 million in projected 2010 salary commitments
Maximum Possible Cap Space: $15.1 Million

The Jazz could take a look at any of the top back-up PGs, if they can get one on the cheap ---

Raymond Felton (Unrestricted)
Luke Ridnour (Unrestricted)
Steve Blake (Unrestricted)
Chris Duhon (Unrestricted)
Anthony Carter, etc.

They could look at John Salmons, depending on what they do in the draft, but probably can't afford him.

And they'll likely pick up a Veteran PF/C while Memo is out.

Whew, not much $$$ for the jazz to work with, but if they do sign someone I hope they don't follow their 1990's model of signing aged vetrans who should've retired. I'd take Darko for part of the MLE, but I think he's already said he's going back to Europe.

Blake should pay The Jazz to come to Utah so he can stop getting crossed-over by D-Will. I'd take him as a back-up. No chance of Felton or Duhon though.

Obviously our options are very limited - most are either scrubs I don't want or out or our price range. Two guys I'd like to see fill out the bench in Utah if they can come over for peanuts.

Joe Alexander - not sure if he ever got a shot. He's definitely not as good as people thought he would be coming out of college; but he might be a decent energy guy coming off the bench.

Etan Thomas - limited - but plays physical, smart and can rebound - definitely an upgrade over Doufos/Koufos.

I like the idea of using our MLE for a backup PG. Deron is amazing, obviously, but the longer he is out there on the court, the shorter his career would probably be. If the Jazz got a backup that could play a solid 15 minutes a game, that would help Deron and the Jazz in the long run.

Yep, I was serious. He is a 7 footer with a decent amount of athletic ability, and he is only 24. Bigs mature latter than gaurds and put in the right situation he could still turn into a decent NBA player. IMO he is a better option than Kofus or Fes.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
to Collins, Darkwing, but I fear you're right.

Then KOC and Greg Miller will talk about how adding the #9 pick, getting a seasoned veteran like Jarron, who started some games for Phoenix and who we should have never let go, and the internal improvement from current Jazz players will make the Jazz a better team.

Oh yeah, and we really haven't seen what the team can do when healthy. Deron had a hurt wrist and hip, AK of course was out, and then the Jazz lost Memo. I mean, with those 3 guys 100%, the Jazz could have EASILY taken out the Lakers.

Mahinmi is the only one of those mentioned above who peaks my interest as he is a shot-blocker and gives us more fouls on the Lakers bigs off of the bench. If we're going to throw the MLE at anyone my vote would be for Brandan Heywood. Size, defense, and a little bit of scoring.

Anthony Carter played well for Denver, if he's who I'm thinking he is. With Denver picking up a PG rookie last year, he could be in play.
