Someone GUARANTEED the Jazz would trade their pick!

Oh yeah, that was me over about 2 months ago. And haters...you know who you are...tried to throw it back in my face a couple of times.

This thread will likely get locked, but bwa-ha-ha. I was right.

Of course, I wish it had been part of a major deal. DL just doesn't understand Utah needs a star, not just a little more depth. "D" grade if Hill leaves after next season. "C+/B-" if Hill can give Utah 3-4 yrs of PG play behind Exum.

I think he extends for 3 more seasons after this one. Decent money. . . around $8-10 per year. If he does, it's a good trade. If it's for less than that (per year) then it's a great trade.

He's a decent player, but his acquisition doesn't move the needle much. Jazz need to be taking some chances, going after bigger fish via trades or free agency. Hill upgrades the position: he's certainly better than Mack, Neto or Burke.
But we need stars. Why spend $8m on a solid, but aging starter/back up? Instead, Utah should be going after players who are all-star talent or have the potential to develop.

In a perfect world you could post a photo of you and George Hill both giving the middle finger to those who doubted you.

And then we sign Durant. :-D

I agree, just don't think you're getting them for the 12th pick in this year's draft. Maybe next year. I personally want DeMar DeRozan. He's the guy I think the Jazz should go after hot and heavy. Think he'd become he alpha #1 scorer that the Jazz desperately need.

Gobert, Favors, Lyles, Hayward, DeRozan, Hood, Burks, Exum and Hill. That's a damn good rotation and possibly able to contend if DeRozan takes his game to another level and Exum breaks out. Also, if they play like they did to finish the season two years ago.

Who's that star player that is going to move the needle that you think we should get that is available? Too bad we turned down that way better trade for the 12th pick (which seems to be equivalent to a late first in a normal draft and a early 2nd in a good draft) in a really crappy draft where every team (outside of the top 2) wants to trade out of.

But good call predicting that we trade our pick. Not like it was rumored and almost every draft expert and most of the people on this board felt was most likely. Its not like Lindsey hinted that it was a good possibility of trading the pick for a vet, oh wait.

Yeah, and the real dead giveaway was the Jazz not having a draft party this year. It was pretty obvious then that the 12th was gonna be traded.

You are so detached from reality that it's impressive.

Wow... you have incredible insight!

Perhaps that 10 times that Dennis Lindsey said that we were trading the pick suggested to you that we were trading the pick. Perhaps you are a magi-can. Either way, we are all amazed!!!

Oh, and I think you are right. Dennis doesn't understand that we need All Stars in a league where only all stars get calls and advance. You are spot on. He is that dumb. If we only had you as GM... All Stars are easily traded for the #12 pick. Notice how Boston got Jimmy Butler and Gordon Hayward for the #3 pick.

Damn you're right. It didn't make sense until you said it... We need a star, a great player. How does Lindsey not get this? It's so simple, get a star! Like WTF? Why don't we just do that? It would help our team so much.

Honestly there are so many teams around the that could also heed that advice (but I hope they don't, let's keep these secrets right here :D ). I know fans always say they could run the team better than the GM, usually I just wave it off. I mean how could a fan know more than these guys? But man, after that post it finally clicked. It's all so simple.. 'Get a star'...

Hmm, I know it's a long shot but do you think Lindsey would read it if we sent him a letter? I REALLY want this info to be given to the front office and I really can't think of a better way...

I just really hope no other teams have this idea before then.

Oh really? Tell us more, this is revolutionary stuff.

Yes, the importance of stars in the NBA is such a subtle nuance that GMs like Lindsey just don't get it . . . but you do (of course)

Damn, we should have taken the offer to trade the 12th straight up for Durant.
