It's no wonder the Jazz have had such an aversion to drafting high school players. Even if the rules changed and allowed the drafting of HS players again, you can bet they would be no more encouraged at the prospect than they ever have been.

Nope

Big Al and Josh Smith.

Drafting HS players seems to be about as risky as drafting Euros. Euros tend to be soft; HS players are often too immature to handle the sudden wealth.

Like clockwork...

Although it's possible he gets those averages...if he's chucking 20 shots per game. Of course, in Billy Shelby's world at least, field goal percentage doesn't matter one bit.

When have I ever said shooting percentage doesn't matter? I look at stats just like you, we agree in principle on many of those stats, but I don't draw the same conclusions as you. I think we covered this in our Al debates. I don't think either Al or CJ are finished products. More importantly, I like their talent. I can't quantify talent, but I watch a lot of games. If I think a player has limited talent, then I'd look at a 4 year sample as being fairly indicative of what they are. I think Al and CJ have a lot of talent which, combined with their age and professional histories, makes me believe their best is yet to come.
