Sources: Schroeder, Antetokounmpo Given First Round Promises

One promise that made sense was the Reggie Jackson Thunder promise.

He didn't do combine stuff or workouts o don't think, then he fell to the thunder

Was it ever confirmed the Thunder are the ones that made the promise?

It just stuck out to me cuz I couldn't believe how far Meeks was falling and I was convinced he'd be a 2nd Rd steal. Wasn't he decent his rookie year or am I confused? He's the dude that dropped like 50 in a college game once right?

Jodie had the most memorable game of my lifetime... yes.

54 on Tennessee and totally unconscious.. was cray and my oldest boy watched it with me.

Wtf would you make a promise?

Players want some kind of assurance of where they'll fall and control over their destiny and teams don't want them working out for other teams. It actually makes a lot of sense whether people want to game that or not.

i was watching him rookie season he didnt do much, or have much time, im trying to figure out the player your thinking of, i have a feeling its Kelenna Azubuike's 3rd season when he didnt play much the first 2, all of a sudden he was money and 15ppg, could that be it?

The rumor for Waiters is that Toronto promised they would pick him, but then the Cavs surprised everyone and took him 4th. Or at least that is what I remember hearing.

i think it was top 10 rumor im not 100% sure though, this kid is $

Still think promises are this made up thing by agents to create hype.
Not necessarily. I know this brings back bad memories, but Utah did give a promise to CJ Miles. Then KOC ended up trading the pick in order to get Deron. In a classy move by Larry H., CJ was then drafted in the 2nd round, but given the same amount of money he would have made as a 1st-round pick.

If there were a chance Schroeder and Antewhatever could have withdrawn from the draft, then make a promise. If they drop then Utah? will take them. If they don't, well that means another couple of players will have dropped instead.
