Just watched the conference concerning this and Adam Silver says that early projections claim this would make teams, on average, $100 million per season. They also said that this won't be happening until the season after next.

That would be doubling the league's revenue and I'm very skeptical the league has been turning that down every year. This is likely the difference between Raja Bell's salary for this year for each team in the NBA. Which is a petty, paltry sum to degrade your league for.
