Sponsorhip Patches - Who would you like to see on Jazz's jersey?!?!

Can other teams purchase patches on another's jersey? Could we be sporting Lakers patches?

I was thinking the Brooklyn Nets since they helped build the Coe of this team and with their LT payment, they will help to fund most of the team for the next 3 or 4 years.

I'm with Mattman. If the jerseys they starte selling to the public have all that on them then I will no longer buy a jersey.

I just saw this thread now. I'm carrying my post from a similar thread to here.

@Incubus, thanks for the info man, I just rep'd you for another thing so can't rep for this thread. What do you think on the "sponsorship patches on jerseys" subject? I believe it may ruin the jerseys. It does ruin in Europe, especially when they do it through horrible designs.

Personally I really hate this decision. I hate the Euro BBall and soccer Jerseys just because of this subject and I've never bought a jersey because of the same reason.

And you know guys, what will be the next? The "Name Sponsorships". Like Galatasaray Medical Park, Barcelona Regal, Milano Armani, Real Madrid Gucci or Turkish Airlines Euroleague.

Can you imagine Lakers Pepsi, McDonald's Orlando Magic, Coca-Cola Atlanta Hawks, Utah Jazz Goldman Sucks etc?

And of course, Google NBA, or Apple NBA...

The last two paragraphs:

There are still some fine points to be worked out. The league has exclusive relationships with corporate sponsorships, which means teams wouldn't be allowed to sell that real estate on the shoulder to competitors, even if the price is right. Lists like those need to be drawn up before teams' marketing departments start pressing the flesh. After that, teams will need lead time to approach potential sponsors, then reach deals with them. At that point, adidas would affix the patch onto all jerseys sold for retail.

Fans who don't like the patch will have one recourse: They can refrain from buying those jerseys. More likely, that 4-square-inch patch will fade into the background because, when a sport is healthy, the event takes center stage.

I don't know if that has been determined, but I would guess that if some company is paying several million dollars for this, the patch would be on the retail jerseys.

I understand that it will create more revenue, however, that additional revenue will not be used to reduce ticket prices or any fan related prices.

No, but if it boosts BRI, then the players and owners will get more money. A win-win. Who cares about the fans?

Pure ****.

I like the idea of "But it generates more revenue for the teams and the players to make. Therefore, who gives a ****?" How about the people that bankroll your pointless (but fun and addicting) game?

This also opens the door to widening the income gap between teams unless all the income is distributed evenly.
