Spurs @ Jazz :: 1.26.2011 :: 7pm Utah Time

The Spurs are a really good team, execute really well, don't make mistakes, and have a strong, versatile roster. However, the Jazz could've played better defense. Their big 4 and Gary Neal ate us alive.

AK gambling off of RJ down the stretch was insanely painful. Why anybody gambles off of him this year is beyond me as ****. More evidence AK doesn't even bother to know his opponent.

So the Jazz guards combined for 40 pts. tonight. D.Will had 39, and Earl Watson chipped in a free-throw.

Millsap with a mighty 8 and 3 against a western conference rival. If Boozer did that against the Spurs last year, people would be seriously ticked about it.

Millsap and bell should be traded

I both dispise Raja and feel bad for him. Is he healthy? At the first of season I thought he was just rusty for not hardly playing for two years. 3 years 9 Million....awful.

3 thoughts:
-Deron was unbelievably good. The Spurs were building a wall everytime he got to the middle of the floor so he made an effort to counterflank their d and drive from the right wing, and he was on automatic from the outside.

-Manu clearly had his way with Raja. Bell plays good fundlmental defense (unlike a certain SF we all know and...) but just doesn't have the lateral quickness and footspeed to keep up with Manu. Then again, he wasn't able to do it 3 years ago in Phoenix so that wasn't too suprising to me.

-Kirilenko's defense is attrocious. In the 2nd-qtr he wasn't hustling in transition which created crossmatches the Spurs were taking advantage of, and he routinely let Gary Neal (yes GARY NEAL) drive to his strong hand and finish in the lane. Add in he constantly over-helps (IMO he's trying to pad his blocks and steals) and leaves players wideopen and he's just not dependable at either end of the court. There was a time AK was Utah's best player, there was a time his performances as a role-player took the Jazz to another level, but now he's become a detriment to the team and I can't wait for his contract to expire.

The 1999-00 team lost 6 in a row in Jan/Feb and still won 55 games. That's my only hopeful thought after the past week and a half.

Gotta say it was great to atleast have a good game to watch tonight. Our guys showed heart. Dwill showed why he is the best and Al played great in that first half. It's tough to fall behind by 19 to a great team like the spurs and come back to win. We almost did that tonight.

Exactly how good does your defense have to be to score no points, no steals, get 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 block in 34 minutes?
