What's new

St George Dickens Festival this weekend

Hell no. I took the kids last year and it sucked. It's just a setting for vendors to peddle their oerpriced merchandise. The line to see santa was 2 hours long and after waiting for an hour they told me and the kids santa was done for day and to come back tomorrow.

If you're doing a family thing for christmas it might be worth driving up to see all christmas lights around the temple, town square, and some of the houses around town. They will start doing horse drawn carriage rides soon too. Theres one house here that always goes crazy, fog machines, bubbles, animatronics, lights coreographed to music etc, the kids love it.

But Chris-L what about teh Dicken's Cider. My wife always has to go because she just loves a Dickin's Cider.

Maybe I missed something. I paid like 30$ for me and the kids to get in, and we were just funneled past booths selling stuff for 2 hours. There was no entertainement, nothing fun about it. It was like going shopping, only I had no money to spend. A couple people in costumes came up and gave the kids lollipops. That's it.

You didn't get a Dicken's Cider?

That's really the best part.

Say it slowly. Outloud.
