What's new

Start Harris, Hayward, Howard, Millsap, Jefferson (optimism galore)

Like Hayward over Bell, but I don't like Big Al and Sap on the court together. Bring one of them off the bench. Screw their pride.

This.
You can't put Millsap on the bench until he proves that all his work to get into the starting lineup was a fluke..... which will never happen.
As far as Big Al goes..... who knows what's going to happen with him, because he limped off the court pretty heavily tonight.

I'm on board with any lineup that lacks Bell at this point, but regardless of how we shuffle the lineup, there is no way we are making the playoffs this year with our current roster.

This current roster can definitely make the playoffs, Mr. Negative.
Now if we didn't have Josh Howard in the middle, I would say you were right.
Howard seems to bring all the intangibles to bring these guys together.
Not to mention if you get Hayward playing like we all know he can play..... I see a 7th or 8th seed birth.

This team doesn't have the poise to win on the road. Let's get a road win first, then discuss playoffs. As for now, no chance.

Just being competitve on the road would be a nice start. 3 road games 3 blowout loses. Yes they are to some good teams. But even at home we have barely won against lesser competition than the road loses.

Raja is not the problem folks. We don't need his shooting and he is contributing to the defensive tone and ball movement in the first quarter. After watching a game in person last night, I get why Ty starts him. I would prefer he get reduced in minutes to 6 or 7 in the first and the third but that may happen. And as nice as Howard finished, his first half shot selection was absolutely horrific. Haven't seen that kind of chucking in a Jazz uniform in years. If he doesn't get over it, his minutes should be going down.

We are not watching the same games. Raja has been terrible. He does not set a tone defensively. His defense is worse than all of our wings except maybe Hayward. Defensively Howard has been much better than Raja. Howard is already more effective than Raja despite no camp and less than 3 weeks with the team.

And how can you not need you starting SG to be able to space the floor. Raja is shooting less than 30% from the floor. And less than 12% from 3. Of course he is passing it. He has no faith in this shot.

Bell should not be playing. No way in hell should he be starting.

Another lineup thread; how shocking.

Again, people, we are five games into a no preseason, no training camp mess. Give Ty a dozen games to teach Burks and Howard the offense and defense before jumping his **** every two seconds Raja Bell or CJ Miles hits the hardwood. Howard is most likely to come into the sets much quicker than Burks. We're seeing more playing time for him already, and Burks will start cracking the rotation as fast as his learning allows.

I've been pleasantly surprised with Howard's play thus far. Here's hoping he's back to his pre-2010 self.

This would be a very interesting starting 5. With Harris, Big Slow, and Howard, they could go many games with zero assists. LOL
