Starvin' Marvin Might be Ready and Healthy by November

I am still worried about our ability to rebound the ball when Favors and/or Kanter are off the court. Marvin could help that.

as long as it comes from your mouth, stats don't need to back anything up. a god in the flesh does not need stats to back up his words. his words are validation enough

see berkkobe's post in the draftees thread btw.

Cause he sucks and not a nba caliber player.

How is that showing power?

Ronnie Turiaf, although no superstar, has been around a while. He's no rook. And he's tough, having come back from open heart surgery.

Having a controlling owner stake in Ronnie Turiaf could be construed as a form of Power.

Marvin is so boring to watch. I really hope that he doesn't see the floor. All he does is clank shots and nothing else.

I remember Locke mentioning the small forward power forward thing after the trade as well. Still, it seemed to me that Marvin seemed a little more successful towards the end of the year when he came off the bench as a stretch four. Maybe it was the coming off the bench thing as opposed to the position he was playing, though.

The trade for Marvin never should have happened. We gave up a decent 1 year contract for a bad 2 year contract. We got a pick for the trouble right? Nope, not even a second rounder. KOC blew that trade. To make it sting even more, Atlanta was +7 or so with Harris on the floor, and in the negative without him.

Here's to hoping we can at least get an asset out of him at the deadline.

The real reason it was a bad trade was CORBIN. Marvin can be - and early on showed he was - a good shooter who can stretch the floor when given shots. But Ty's offense completely ignored Marvin (and Millsap and Hayward). The only players getting shots were Big Al, Foye and Mo. Much like Millsap, I think Marvin just gave up. That said, I do hope he has a decent season so he can be traded for assets. Jazz are better off signing young players than doling out contracts in the $6-8M range for players like Marvin.

I hope to see plenty of Marvin as a key member of the bench crew this year. I may have previously agreed with everything davidbenoit said, I have since moved on and I'm ready to embrace that trade, seeing how it strategically helps this franchise going forward. Also, if Corbin chooses not to ignore Marvin like he did last year, all the better.
