It difference is that with Obama, there was a human on the other end of the kill button. AI has no moral issues that might give it pause. It is 100% devoted to the task of identification and the best approach angle to make the most lethally effective use of the explosive charge it controls. Being a man, a woman, or a kid at a birthday party doesn't matter to the best angles and timing to inflict maximum damage.
