To his credit he did give Burks minutes tonight and not surprisingly look what Burks is doing!
 
Kinda weird now that the trade deadline has passed, Burks gets more minutes than Bell and CJ put together.

Must be just a coincidence.

Very promising start granted. However I want to see that in more than 1 game before I start singing his praises.

So true. Now everyone will say "see that was the plan all along to play bell and miles for showcasing purposes for trades. Everything worked out"
Gread point dutchjazzer.... that plan was a colossal fail. we didn't get anything for those guys and held burks back all year and probably lost games in the process.
I would argue that if we played burks from the beginning that we would have a few more wins and a better shot at the playoffs.
 
Obviously, it's not a coincidence. The Jazz were trying to showcase Howard, Bell, and CJ. You know now they're likely not resigning CJ or Howard and they're trading Bell.

I have two theories and while I'm likely giving the Jazz brass way too much credit, here goes:

1) Corbin wanted the FO to make a trade to free up time for the young players so he wouldn't have to do the dirty work, and when they didn't pull the trigger, he said "eff it, I'm playing the youngsters regardless".

2) The FO told Corbin, "we weren't able to get a deal done, so be the GD coach we're paying you to be, sit the vets and don't worry about hurting feelings".

edit: I just read that CJ was sick tonight. Forget all the jibberish above. Definitely giving Corbin/KOC too much credit too soon. Dammit to hell.
